Senior Domain Engineering Specialist – VDP & Cloud

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Act as a technical resource complementing CSEs and CSSs, offering specialized knowledge when advanced product insight or domain expertise is necessary.

• Oversee solution design evaluations, customer readiness checks, and risk or maturity modeling activities within the Veeam Data Platform.

• Collaborate directly with CIO and CISO stakeholders regarding resilience strategies, risk exposure, and long-term data protection and modernization initiatives.

• Assist in the expansion of security, cloud, and AI initiatives in collaboration with Sales and CSE teams, helping to shape technical strategies and customer narratives.

• Analyze telemetry, inspection signals, and maturity indicators to pinpoint risks, optimization possibilities, and expansion cues.

• Confirm architectures and designs to mitigate adoption risks and expedite time to value.

• Work closely with Sales Engineering teams to ensure alignment on necessary deliverables and engagement strategies, allowing Sales to concentrate on presales efforts while Success Engineers provide post-sale depth and continuity.

• Function as a shared specialist resource across Enterprise and Commercial Named accounts, with coverage models tailored to demand and specialization.

• Enhance Veeam’s technical authority in client discussions by simplifying complex technical concepts into clear, outcome-focused guidance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in advanced technical or architectural roles (e.g., Security Engineer/Architect, Cloud Solution Architect, Platform Engineer, MLOps / ML Engineer).

• In-depth knowledge in at least one product area (VDC or VDP) or one domain area (Security, Cloud, AI), with the capability to collaborate across different specialties.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline; advanced degree is preferred.

• Appropriate industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP, cloud or platform certifications); VMCE preferred or willingness to pursue post-hire.

• Proven ability to engage with senior technical and executive stakeholders (CIO/CISO) on matters of risk, resilience, and strategic planning.

• Practical experience with solution design, proofs of concept, telemetry analysis, and maturity or risk modeling frameworks.

• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

• Ability to operate effectively in an overlay model, managing multiple accounts and priorities with a significant impact.
