This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +2 more states.
• Design, prototype, build, and maintain real-time telemetry and telemetry processing systems.
• Work collaboratively with various stakeholders across the organization to ensure a seamless transition from concept to product.
• Uphold security standards by implementing best practices for secure coding in all development initiatives and processes.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies.
• Create comprehensive and effective documentation for your projects.
• Guarantee that the team delivers top-notch code quality by serving as a peer reviewer, offering thorough feedback, and providing detailed, constructive comments.
• Act as a subject matter expert on supported products and systems to assist sales and solutions engineering.
• Over 5 years of experience in software development for Linux or similar operating systems.
• More than 5 years of experience in software development and/or system design within a team setting.
• Proficient understanding of modern CI/CD systems and methodologies, along with cloud deployment.
• Capability to write and review expert-level systems and application code in C, Rust, or Go.
• Knowledge of various system design methodologies (e.g., Cloud-native, monolithic, and microservices) and their respective advantages and disadvantages.
• Familiarity with different programming paradigms (e.g., functional, object-oriented, concurrent vs. parallel vs. event-driven) and their respective pros and cons.
• Self-motivated with a strong sense of initiative, commitment, and energy.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage work to meet deadlines.
• Ability to comprehend business needs and assess solutions to present to leadership.
• **Preferred Qualifications**
• Working knowledge of Python, including its integration with C or Rust.
• Experience collaborating remotely with distributed teams across various time zones.
• Familiarity with software packaging and release engineering tools and infrastructure.
• Understanding of core Internet technologies such as TCP/IP, DNS, or BGP.
