Senior Director, Solutions Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the pre-sales function by establishing and enforcing standards for opportunity qualification, POC scoping, and SE engagement.

• Challenge deals, scopes, or timelines that fall short of the required standards.

• Mentor and develop the Solutions Engineering team by providing targeted feedback on technical approaches, deal strategies, and customer requirements.

• Assess architecture, POC design, and technical claims for their validity in AI/ML delivery.

• Collaborate with GVPs and account teams to influence the qualification, resourcing, and execution of enterprise deals exceeding $5M.

• Establish the operational rhythm for pre-sales, covering capacity allocation, opportunity prioritization, and regular cadence.

• Recruit and expand the pre-sales team as the organization grows.

• Evaluate deal quality and offer insights on opportunity value.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in enterprise, solution-selling pre-sales or sales engineering.

• Proven experience with complex enterprise deals valued at $5M or more.

• Necessary experience in building, coaching, and managing a technical or pre-sales team.

• Capability to define and implement operational processes.

• Ability to engage confidently and assertively with GVPs and enterprise sales personnel.

• Technical proficiency in AI/ML delivery, covering architecture, POC design, and technical claims.

• Strong judgment regarding opportunity qualification, technical compatibility, and deal viability.

• Willingness to travel and engage in extensive customer-facing activities.

• Preference for candidates located on the East Coast.

• No specific vertical expertise is required.
