This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Supervise the design and implementation of a portfolio of research studies utilizing various secondary data sources.
• Lead and guide teams to perform high-quality analyses, efficiently achieving task goals and project objectives.
• Identify key risks and proactively devise and execute strategies to mitigate them.
• Formulate and prioritize recommendations based on anticipated impact, communicate risks and opportunities to ensure alignment among staff, take on the role of final decision-maker with the authority to overturn decisions, and accept accountability for outcomes.
• Spearhead and strategize the dissemination of research to a diverse range of stakeholders through peer-reviewed publications, conferences, and other presentations.
• Actively manage client expectations and implement strategies to address issues on a client or project basis.
• Recognize potential opportunities by collaborating closely with clients and being regarded as a scientific partner, mentoring others to adopt the same approach.
• Clearly communicate roles, responsibilities, and expectations for staff; provide continuous coaching to staff; and handle challenging situations with diplomacy and composure.
• Contribute to the growth of the business by drafting and authoring research proposals and presentation materials, participating in client meetings, and seeking new opportunities with existing customers for repeat business.
• Manage communications to support departmental and business unit goals and objectives.
• Collaborate with colleagues and business leaders on staffing recommendations (level to hire/when to hire) based on capacity models, utilization, and business pipeline.
• Coach, mentor, and develop staff, including overseeing the onboarding of new employees and providing career development planning and opportunities.
• Encourage employees to take charge of their career development and objectives.
• Master’s degree in a field related to health-services research, such as health economics, public policy, health policy, epidemiology, biostatistics, or public health.
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant research experience, with at least 4-5 years in consulting.
• Strong foundational knowledge of epidemiological, statistical, and observational research methodologies.
• In-depth understanding of health economics and outcomes research (HEOR), the pharmaceutical industry, health policy, payer value assessment, and health technology assessment (HTA) evidence requirements in Europe and globally.
• Extensive experience in managing clients and their expectations, as well as overseeing project timelines and financial performance.
• Proficiency in developing proposals to generate new business.
• Proven track record of published research in health economics, health outcomes, or health policy research.
• Expertise in managing a cross-functional team within a research context.
• Experience in staff management and development.
• Capability to lead and mentor both seasoned and novice researchers.
• Familiarity with business applications, including Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook.
• Willingness to travel domestically and/or internationally, including overnight stays if necessary.
