📋 Description

• Oversee the operations and continuous enhancement of our Real World Data (RWD) curation pipeline, managing both internal and external resources as necessary.

• Assess and incorporate agentic workflows and artificial intelligence to ensure precision, enhance interpretability and quality, and promote efficiencies across our RWD initiatives.

• Develop a detailed, multi-year strategy for the acquisition, management, curation, and application of RWD to support regulatory submissions, clinical evidence generation, health economics and outcomes research (HEOR), and commercial activities including patient identification and care navigation.

• Design, construct, and sustain a robust, efficient, and scalable RWD platform and pipeline capable of ingesting, linking, harmonizing, and curating extensive, complex, and varied real-world datasets such as Electronic Health Records (EHRs), claims data, imaging, and structured and unstructured data registries.

• Lead clinical data analyses to support product strategy, development, and commercialization, improving Freenome’s access to RWD and enhancing future product offerings for healthcare organizations (HCOs).

• Act as the RWD authority, proactively collaborating with Clinical Development, Biostatistics, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs, Engineering, Science, and Product and Commercial teams to ensure the RWD pipeline addresses diverse end-user needs as well as clinical, scientific, and commercial goals.

• Help define the strategic direction of Freenome's data initiatives in collaboration with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.

• Assist in data acquisition by performing technical due diligence, facilitating data acquisition agreements, and defining data delivery specifications while leading data product implementation efforts into Freenome’s platforms with strategic partners and clients.

• Supervise the transformation of raw RWD datasets into research-ready, regulatory-grade datasets, adhering to OMOP or other industry-standard models, suitable for rigorous statistical analysis and real-world evidence (RWE) generation.

• Promote a culture of quality through data quality checks, governance policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure the integrity, privacy, security, and traceability of all RWD assets to comply with regulatory standards.

• Develop the team by enhancing technical and leadership capabilities and providing coaching for high-performance proficiency.

• Directly manage a team of clinical informaticists and data analysts through clear guidance and priorities, facilitating focused execution in alignment with company objectives.

• Oversee the RWD department budget, ensuring effective resource utilization and expenditure allocation.

• Cultivate a culture of collaboration and inclusivity within RWD and across Freenome as a whole.


⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Health Informatics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline.

• A minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in clinical informatics, including expertise in:

• EHR, claims, other structured and unstructured RWD, and molecular data.

• Applying RWD to the development of devices, therapeutics, and/or software products.

• Utilizing RWD across various disease areas, particularly oncology.

• At least 10 years of experience in building and leading high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams.

• Proven success in navigating a matrixed organization and proactively collaborating with internal and external teams to drive product delivery from concept to completion.

• A strong commitment to hands-on leadership, exemplifying best practices, and scaling technical platforms and teams.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong stakeholder management abilities and problem-solving capabilities.

• Experience in leading data modeling, terminology normalization, data curation, and/or unstructured data abstraction using natural language processing (NLP).

• In-depth understanding of ontologies commonly utilized by health systems and payers (ICD-10, HCPCS, CPT, LOINC, RxNorm).

• Proficiency in Python, R, and/or SQL.
