This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee and enhance Neogen's R&D PMO operating model, which includes portfolio governance, decision-making rights, reporting schedules, escalation pathways, standardized processes, and program management capabilities.
• Develop and sustain a comprehensive view of the strategic portfolio, encompassing initiative ownership, outcomes, milestones, dependencies, risks, capacity requirements, investments, and value realization.
• Collaborate with executive and cross-functional leaders to convert strategy into an actionable portfolio.
• Facilitate decisions regarding prioritization, stage-gate processes, investment, continuation, acceleration, and risk management.
• Integrate needs-driven innovation practices throughout R&D and product development efforts.
• Provide executive oversight for intricate, high-risk, and cross-enterprise programs.
• Align R&D, Product Management, Commercial, Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory, Finance, IT/Digital, Legal, and other departments around common outcomes.
• Cultivate a high-performing PMO and innovation excellence team through talent development, coaching, communities of practice, performance management, reusable tools, playbooks, and educational processes.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, business, operations, or a related field.
• Advanced degree such as an MBA, master's, or doctorate is preferred.
• Typically requires 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in portfolio management, program management, product development, innovation, operations, transformation, or related domains.
• At least 7 years of experience leading complex cross-functional programs and/or a PMO.
• Proven track record of building, transforming, or leading an enterprise or business-unit PMO.
• Experience in enhancing portfolio decisions, delivery performance, resource productivity, and benefits realization.
• Extensive practical experience with needs-driven innovation methodologies, including observation, need finding, need screening, concept development, prototyping, and implementation planning.
• Formal Biodesign training is preferred.
• Strong understanding of portfolio management, stage-gate governance, integrated planning, capacity and resource management, risk management, business-case analysis, and executive-level reporting.
• PMP, PgMP, PfMP, Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, or similar certifications are preferred.
• Experience in regulated product environments and guiding products, diagnostics, instruments, consumables, software/digital solutions, services, or integrated platforms through development and commercialization.
• Experience in food safety, animal safety, life sciences, diagnostics, medical technology, laboratory workflows, industrial biotechnology, or related industries is preferred.
