This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide strategic oversight for a portfolio of projects, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to scope, budget, and quality standards.
• Act as the primary operational escalation point for both clients and internal teams.
• Proactively identify portfolio risks, resource requirements, and delivery obstacles, implementing effective solutions.
• Collaborate with Business Development to formulate operational strategies, delivery models, and competitive approaches for new opportunities.
• Lead bid defense presentations and ensure smooth transitions from proposal development to project execution.
• Manage financial performance across assigned portfolios, including forecasting, invoicing, change orders, and contract administration.
• Ensure timely identification and management of out-of-scope work and modifications to contracts.
• Partner with Business Development, Proposals, and Contracts teams to create pricing strategies and cultivate long-term client relationships.
• Develop and nurture strong executive-level client relationships.
• Conduct governance meetings and portfolio reviews to assess performance, manage risks, and uncover growth opportunities.
• Foster repeat business through proactive client engagement and successful project execution.
• Mentor and develop Project Management personnel, promoting leadership skills and operational excellence.
• Advocate for best practices, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement across teams.
• Collaborate with leadership to enhance organizational capabilities and talent development pipelines.
• Promote consistency, quality, and efficiency across project portfolios.
• Spearhead process improvement initiatives and endorse organizational change efforts.
• Ensure compliance with relevant SOPs, regulatory standards, ICH-GCP guidelines, and client expectations.
• Establish effective governance, communication, and escalation pathways for complex projects.
• Facilitate discussions at the portfolio level with sponsors and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate across functions to optimize delivery, profitability, quality, and client satisfaction.
• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Life Sciences (or a related field), with a minimum of 10 years of experience in clinical research project management (or a similar leadership role), including at least 4 years of program and/or portfolio-level oversight; at least 4 years of experience working with or managing CROs.
• Comprehensive knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and best practices, along with a strong understanding of financial management processes, including budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, and contract administration; advanced strategic planning and prioritization skills to align resources and achieve deliverables.
• Solid grasp of regulatory and compliance standards pertinent to the industry.
• Familiarity with business development processes, proposal strategies, and organizational change management.
• Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities, with the ability to drive operational excellence and foster continuous improvement across projects while mentoring and coaching project staff.
• Outstanding communication, negotiation, and presentation skills for engaging with clients and internal stakeholders; relationship-building skills to maintain senior-level client and cross-functional partnerships; ability to influence strategies and secure repeat business through proactive engagement.
• Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities under pressure, with adaptability to manage changing priorities and support organizational change initiatives.
