
Senior Director, Product Management – Patient Access Technology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead the identification of technological solutions that enhance UBC’s Patient Access, Adherence, and Affordability initiatives.
• Establish the product vision, roadmap, value proposition, and prioritize the product backlog.
• Convert business requirements into actionable specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria for development teams.
• Keep track of industry trends, competitive landscape, emerging technologies, product performance, and user feedback to guide strategy and ongoing improvements.
• Collaborate with teams in operations, project management, regulatory affairs, development, quality assurance, finance, pricing, marketing, data analytics, architecture, security, privacy, compliance, and governance.
• Act as the main point of contact between business stakeholders and agile development teams.
• Engage with clients and key stakeholders to identify needs, challenges, and priorities.
• Assist with pricing strategies, profitability assessments, go-to-market initiatives, product launches, business development, RFI/RFP submissions, client presentations, and strategic planning.
• Communicate product enhancements and functionalities to project, scrum, and business teams.
• Ensure adherence to industry standards, data security protocols, healthcare regulations, and HIPAA compliance.
• Convey product intent, scope, commitments, budget assumptions, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations to delivery teams at the program's inception.
• Serve as an executive-level product solution leader during strategic client meetings, bid defenses, governance forums, quarterly business reviews, and portfolio discussions.
• Assess client commitments for feasibility, regulatory impacts, validation needs, budget, resources, and delivery risks.
• Sponsor business cases and review materials related to technology/AI governance.
• Build relationships with pharmaceutical clients for co-definition, co-development, idea sharing, and early adoption initiatives.
• May oversee Product Business Analysts.
• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Computer Science, Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related discipline.
• Over 8 years of experience as a Product Manager, ideally within healthcare, life sciences, or patient support services.
• Knowledge of specialty pharmacy services, patient access programs, or affordability solutions, including copay cards and patient assistance initiatives.
• Proven experience in backlog management and user story development.
• Capability to translate intricate business needs into clear product specifications and user stories.
• Proficiency in balancing technical limitations, business priorities, and regulatory obligations.
• Certification as a Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent is advantageous.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
