This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Define and enhance the platform strategy, roadmap, and priority capabilities across analyst experience, workflow infrastructure, and extensibility surfaces.

• Transform AI and ML functionalities into a product experience that compliance analysts can utilize and regulators can audit.

• Take ownership of the product extensibility strategy: establish the API and integration surfaces that enable policy makers and analyst teams to enhance product capabilities without necessitating Smarsh engineering involvement.

• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the competitive landscape and create differentiated positioning based on product realities.

• Manage the end-to-end analyst experience: from alert surfacing to resolution, including explainability, reason code workflows, and ensuring audit trail completeness.

• Promote UX investment as a strategic lever rather than a superficial enhancement. The analyst workflow has a direct impact on model quality through the feedback loop, meaning UX choices have downstream data implications.

• Collaborate closely with Design to transition from concept to delivered capability, being directly accountable for bridging the gap between the platform's AI narrative and the actual experience analysts encounter today.

• Define and take ownership of the API surface: alert queues, review actions, reporting, reason code taxonomies, and workflow configuration. These are product decisions, not engineering ones.

• Develop the product strategy for programmatic extensibility, including integrations with external agents, policymaker prompting surfaces, and documentation aimed at developers.

• Establish the commercial packaging model for extensibility capabilities: determining what constitutes a subscription tier, what is usage-based, and what justifies a premium price point.

• Collaborate with Engineering on capacity allocation, release readiness, and operational discipline. You will provide specifications that are sufficiently complete for engineering to build without seeking further clarification.

• Partner with the AI/ML Product team to ensure smooth handoffs between AI/ML capabilities and the experience surface that reveals them. Own the requirements for feedback routing that facilitate the compounding data flywheel's functionality.

• Work with Professional Services and Customer Experience to translate customer pain points into actionable priorities. Engage with customers where they are, not solely where internal stakeholders gather.

• Lead a small team of product managers as a player-coach. Set standards through your own output, rather than through delegation.

• Foster PM craft within the team: problem framing, evidence-based prioritization, and outcome measurement. This team requires a model to emulate, not merely a manager to report to.

• Oversee the team’s operational rhythm, including sprint reviews, prioritization forums, and stakeholder communications.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of product management experience, with a proven track record of delivering products at enterprise scale.

• More than 3 years of management experience. As a player-coach, you have overseen PMs while simultaneously managing product work directly.

• Proven ownership of UX products: experience in defining workflows for analysts or end-users, not merely feature requirements. You have launched products where the quality of experience was a key differentiator.

• Demonstrated experience with API products: adept in defining and owning developer-facing API surfaces or extensibility layers as product decisions. You have crafted API product specifications, not just documentation.

• Background in enterprise SaaS products within regulated industries. You comprehend the implications of deploying software where incorrect answers can lead to legal or regulatory risks.

• Excellent written communication skills. You produce product specifications that engineering can use and strategy documents that executives can leverage. You understand the distinction between these types of documents.

• Experience in a cross-functional environment collaborating with Engineering, Design, and Data Science as true peers, rather than as service organizations.

🏝️ Benefits

• Healthcare insurance: We offer medical, dental, and vision insurance, along with a flexible spending account that allows you to allocate pre-tax dollars for eligible out-of-pocket expenses.

• Stock options.

• Personal time off: A healthy work-life balance is essential for your success at the office. Smarsh provides a “take-what-you-need” time off policy along with flexible work arrangements.

• 401K Match: Smarsh offers a 4% 401K match with full vesting from day one.

• Sabbatical: The Smarsh sabbatical program allows you time to recharge, study, or pursue something you are passionate about away from work. Employees are eligible after six years of service.

• Recognition: We highly value acknowledgment for a job well done. Our employee-recognition program enables coworkers to nominate peers who exemplify our core values for recognition.
