Senior Director, Product Management

Posted Jul 19

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop an assertive and visionary outlook on the future of fund accounting and financial management for mission-driven organizations, translating this vision into a long-term product strategy that aligns with Momentive’s platform goals (including MomentiveIQ and AI-driven functionalities) to deliver significant, measurable value for both customers and the organization.

• Differentiate between groundbreaking initiatives and minor enhancements, possessing the assurance to rethink what the product could become rather than just enhancing its current functionalities.

• Take ownership of the product family roadmap development, tracking dependencies, and monitoring delivery progress.

• Assist Product Managers and Product Owners in the development of initiatives and epics — ensuring team alignment, meeting deadlines, and employing AI-driven analytics to assess whether delivery leads to adoption, retention, and revenue growth.

• Collaborate with business leadership to align roadmaps with company goals.

• Create persuasive business cases for strategic investments — encompassing market research, competitive analysis, pricing, and ROI — and effectively communicate strategies and performance updates to executive leadership with clarity and conviction.

• Utilize AI tools as essential instruments in day-to-day operations — not as mere novelties, but as catalysts for enhancing research, analysis, communication, and decision-making: Streamline discovery and validation cycles by leveraging AI to synthesize feedback, evaluate competitive landscapes, and draft initial documents (strategy briefs, PRDs) that you refine using product expertise — arriving at planning discussions equipped with actionable analyses and a clear perspective, rather than just presentation slides.

• Implement AI for swift prototyping: develop functional prototypes to present to clients and validate direction frequently and early.

• Lead, mentor, and cultivate a high-performing product team — including Product Managers and Product Owners — through hands-on coaching, performance evaluations, and career advancement opportunities.

• Manage succession planning effectively. Build a talent pipeline.

• Collaborate with Engineering, Architecture, and R&D to establish technical implementation strategies that harmonize innovative aspirations with practical time-to-market considerations.

• Work closely with Product Marketing and Organizational Readiness to oversee the entire product lifecycle: conducting market analysis, positioning, messaging, pricing, and executing go-to-market strategies across various product lines.

• Advocate for best practices within the product team — promoting portfolio governance, tool standards, and AI-enhanced workflows that expedite delivery and elevate quality.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 12 years in a software/SaaS environment, including a minimum of 10 years in product management leadership, with at least 5 years overseeing multiple products or a product family.

• Proven, substantial application of AI tools within your own product management processes.

• A successful history of guiding a team or organization through transformations — including processes, technology, and/or mergers and acquisitions — while translating a long-term vision into a delivered product strategy.

• Extensive industry and domain expertise; capability to formulate and implement product strategy across a product family on a 3–5 year timeline.

• Familiarity with accounting or financial management software — preferably fund accounting, nonprofit or government finance, or compliance-oriented reporting — or the ability to quickly acquire knowledge in this area.

• Revenue fluency: capacity to interpret customer signals as product priorities connected to business outcomes — including churn risks, deal impediments, and expansion possibilities.

• Advanced understanding of networks, databases, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and Agile methodologies; sufficient to evaluate how technical decisions influence product choices.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with a client-centric approach and the ability to lead and influence within complex, matrixed environments at all organizational levels.

• Strong experience with Jira; familiarity with AI-assisted development and prototyping tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor, or similar) to validate ideas and expedite decision-making.

• Experience collaborating with Associations and/or Nonprofits is advantageous.
