
Senior Director, Portfolio Strategy – Opportunity Development

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Spearhead the discovery, assessment, and prioritization of fresh growth prospects across various products, services, manufacturing capabilities, strategic alliances, and business models.
• Create and oversee a comprehensive pipeline of opportunities from conceptualization to Gate 0 readiness.
• Convert initial-stage ideas into actionable business proposals backed by market, technical, operational, and financial analyses.
• Establish a systematic approach for opportunity incubation and portfolio enhancement.
• Examine aerospace aftermarket trends, fleet dynamics, customer requirements, competitive movements, and market gaps.
• Directly engage with operators, airlines, MROs, leasing firms, suppliers, distributors, and other industry players to affirm opportunities and validate assumptions.
• Identify emerging market demands and customer issues that can be tackled through innovative products, services, and solutions.
• Evaluate customer adoption potential and commercialization routes for new offerings.
• Lead portfolio assessments and processes for opportunity prioritization.
• Formulate strategic roadmaps for products, technologies, capabilities, and growth initiatives.
• Offer guidance to executive leadership on investment priorities, resource distribution, and portfolio trade-offs.
• Assist in long-term planning and capital investment decisions with data-backed insights and recommendations.
• Construct thorough business cases that analyze market demand, competitive standing, financial returns, technical viability, manufacturing implications, regulatory factors, and execution risks.
• Examine sourcing strategies and pathways essential for supporting product and service development efforts.
• Present recommendations and investment cases to senior leadership for informed decision-making.
• Collaborate closely with Business Development, Product Management, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and PMO teams.
• Ensure that validated opportunities transition smoothly into formal development processes and project execution teams.
• Build robust relationships throughout the organization and act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership.
• Assemble and lead a lean, high-performing team of analysts and program managers.
• Establish operational rhythms, governance frameworks, and portfolio management tools.
• Promote a culture of curiosity, accountability, agility, collaboration, and analytical precision.
• A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Over 10 years of experience in aerospace, aviation, industrial technology, or a comparable sector.
• Background in product strategy, portfolio management, growth strategy, business development, product management, or new business creation.
• Proven track record in evaluating and nurturing new growth opportunities.
• Strong capabilities in business case development, financial analysis, and strategic planning.
• Experience in influencing decisions across commercial, technical, and operational domains.
• Exceptional executive communication and presentation abilities.
• An MBA or an advanced technical degree.
• Familiarity with the aerospace aftermarket.
• Understanding of aerospace product development, certification, manufacturing, and commercialization processes.
• Experience in establishing new teams, functions, or operational models.
