This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee all facets of pharmacy operations across two markets featuring multiple product lines.
• Execute responsibilities to develop, lead, and implement a pharmacy benefit management program.
• Assist in creating and enforcing relevant organizational policies and procedures, including pharmacy service quality, utilization management, and achieving the Company's objectives for pharmacy and medical programs.
• Define the strategic vision, objectives, and policies and procedures for the pharmacy program to align with the Corporate strategic vision for various plans and markets.
• Plan, direct, and execute pharmacy activities for a range of plans and products.
• Serve as the pharmacy contract administrator, facilitating the development and execution of key contracts while ensuring that vendors meet relevant performance standards.
• Engage in external accreditation initiatives for multiple plans and products.
• Manage and evaluate operating costs and assist in preparing materials for budget planning or special projects.
• Generate, review, and analyze reports on drug utilization, utilization management, financial data, and other ad-hoc reports, records, and directives.
• Collaborate with staff to gather data essential for planning work function activities.
• Examine statistical analyses to support recommendations and/or decisions regarding policies and operational procedures.
• Maintain daily communication with plan management concerning each market and product.
• Oversee pharmacy department staff to ensure adequate coverage and support across multiple locations and product lines.
• Promote provider education initiatives such as counter detailing and incentive programs in various markets.
• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or an advanced pharmacy degree (PharmD., M.S.) from an accredited college of pharmacy.
• A minimum of 6 years of clinical pharmacy care experience.
• At least 1 year of experience managing a pharmacy program.
• Required experience in managed care, retail, or hospital pharmacy.
• Comprehensive knowledge of pharmaceutical care and pharmacy benefit management practices.
• Prior management experience that includes responsibilities for hiring, training, work assignment, and performance management of staff.
• Current Pharmacist license.
• Capability to obtain a license in additional states as necessary.
