This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Ensure that incoming datasets are provided in accordance with established data formats, metadata standards, and project specifications.
• Convert scientific and model development requirements into organized dataset preparation tasks in collaboration with pathology scientists and pathologists.
• Confirm that imaging data, annotations, and metadata are appropriate for subsequent AI/ML model development, validation, and scientific analysis.
• Implement computational pathology workflows throughout AI model development and discovery projects for image analysis, generating quantitative outputs that support discovery and program decision-making within cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Deciphex Patholytics, Procia-Concentriq).
• Recognize opportunities to enhance data workflows, tools, and operational processes within computational pathology.
• Remain updated on emerging practices in data management, digital pathology technologies, and AI data standards.
• Offer pathology expertise during the design and execution of GLP and non-GLP nonclinical safety studies to facilitate the advancement of discovery and development programs to decision points, including pathology peer reviews and the review of integrated toxicology reports for finalization.
• Act as a contributing author for pathology sections of regulatory documents such as INDs, NDA/BLAs, IBs, and address inquiries from Health Authorities.
• DVM with 7 years of experience in pathology or toxicology OR a Master’s degree with 10 years of experience in pathology or toxicology OR a Bachelor’s degree with 12 years of experience in pathology or toxicology.
• DVM, Board Certification in Veterinary Anatomic Pathology (DACVP or an equivalent credentialing body), and a PhD in pathology or toxicology.
• A minimum of 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry as a discovery and toxicologic pathologist, along with an additional 5 years of experience incorporating pathology data into bioinformatics initiatives within a pharmaceutical setting.
• Experience in managing pathology data within pharmaceutical environments is highly preferred.
• Proven experience working with large-scale imaging datasets (e.g., whole-slide images) and related metadata in distributed or cloud environments, along with analysis outputs.
• Familiarity with annotation platforms, digital pathology pipelines, or whole-slide image analysis environments.
• Understanding of IHC assay workflows and digital slide scanning.
• Experience in interpreting pathology and toxicology studies aimed at target discovery.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a solution-oriented mindset, especially in diagnosing and addressing data quality or workflow challenges.
