This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Develop and implement a global HR strategy that aligns with the organization's mission and priorities.
• Act as the primary HR consultant for executive leadership, offering insights on people-related risks, opportunities, and overall organizational effectiveness.
• Manage all HR operations to ensure adherence to federal, state, local, and applicable international employment laws across a globally distributed workforce.
• Continuously enhance HR policies, procedures, and personnel recordkeeping to maintain consistency, readiness for audits, and compliance with both U.S. and global standards.
• Oversee the processes of recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning.
• Lead employee engagement, recognition, and team-building initiatives that reinforce the organization's culture and values.
• Administer, optimize, and negotiate the benefits portfolio and compensation in partnership with industry stakeholders.
• Structure, lead, and manage a high-performing HR team; enhance organizational capacity through effective leadership, accountability, and ongoing development of personnel and processes.
• Promote a culture of reliability, meticulousness, and continuous improvement within the HR function.
• Design and implement performance management systems and develop leadership capabilities.
• Set and maintain high standards for accuracy, consistency, and accountability throughout all HR functions.
• Enhance HR systems (such as Modern HRIS and training platforms) to improve reporting, data integrity, and operational efficiency.
• Lead the evaluation and enhancement of organizational health by integrating insights from diverse data sources to boost employee satisfaction, improve retention, and advance the organization's mission.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• Senior-level certifications (SHRM-SCP or SPHR) are strongly preferred.
• More than 10 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership position (HR Director, Head of HR, or equivalent), with a preference for experience in global or nonprofit settings.
• A demonstrated history of establishing an HR function, including the development of people strategies and organizational structures.
• Proven experience managing an HR department budget, directly overseeing employee benefits and compensation structures for a globally distributed workforce.
• Capacity to evaluate organizational impact; recommend actions that align with strategic priorities, and proactively propose solutions that enhance organizational health.
• Advanced skills with modern HRIS platforms and data analytics tools to inform people strategy decisions.
• Comprehensive understanding of employment laws and HR best practices in accordance with both U.S. and global requirements.
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically or internationally, averaging 20% annually.
