This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Establish the national vision, strategy, and operational framework for the U.S. MSL organization, aligned with medical and corporate priorities.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a geographically diverse team of MSLs; recruit, onboard, and retain top-tier scientific talent.
• Define and oversee standards for scientific engagement, including KOL strategy, external engagement planning, documentation, and compliant scientific exchange.
• Manage relationship-building with national, regional, and local KOLs, academic institutions, and community networks to ensure consistent, high-quality scientific discussions.
• Collaborate with Medical Affairs leadership to design and implement the integrated medical plan; ensure field priorities are translated into clear territory plans and deliverables.
• Create mechanisms to capture, synthesize, and communicate field insights to support cross-functional decision-making, evidence generation, and strategy refinement.
• Act as a senior scientific resource for key initiatives including congress strategy and execution, advisory boards, internal training, and strategic planning forums.
• Work collaboratively with Clinical Development, Regulatory, Commercial, and Market Access teams to enhance clinical trial awareness, launch preparedness, and post-launch evidence strategies.
• Ensure the MSLs function as Key Contact Persons in managing investigator-sponsored research proposals, guaranteeing timely review, communication, and alignment with corporate research objectives.
• Oversee MSL performance measurement and impact reporting (KPIs/OKRs), encompassing quality metrics, insight value, scientific engagement outcomes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Supervise MSL tools and processes (e.g., CRM/activity tracking), field communications, and training to ensure consistency, efficiency, and audit readiness.
• Manage the national MSL budget and resource planning (headcount, territories, congress coverage) in collaboration with Medical Affairs operations.
• Advanced scientific or medical degree (MD, PharmD, PhD, NP, PA, MSN, or equivalent).
• 12+ years of experience in Medical Affairs and/or Clinical Development, including significant leadership experience managing a national or multi-region field medical team.
• Extensive expertise in oncology with a strong understanding of treatment paradigms, evolving standards of care, and trends in clinical research.
• Proven ability to build, scale, and lead high-performing field organizations, including talent strategy, succession planning, and manager development.
• Demonstrated success in KOL engagement strategy and partnership development across academic and community oncology environments.
• Strong strategic thinking skills with the capability to translate external insights and scientific data into integrated medical strategies and clear execution priorities.
• Excellent communication, influence, and presentation skills; ability to represent Medical Affairs credibly with senior internal stakeholders and external experts.
• In-depth knowledge of compliance guidelines and regulatory frameworks governing pharmaceutical field medical activities.
• Familiarity with MSL CRM and activity tracking platforms (e.g., Veeva) and a comfort with using data to drive performance and planning.
