This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania, +1 more state.
• Take ownership of and drive delivery performance metrics across LTL, parcel, and courier channels, focusing on on-time delivery, damage rates, exception management, and carrier scorecards.
• Set and uphold service level standards that align with customer expectations and Cencora’s commitments.
• Lead root cause analyses and develop corrective action plans for service failures in collaboration with carriers and internal operations teams.
• Execute continuous improvement initiatives across various delivery modes.
• Manage the transportation P&L for USSC while overseeing budgeted versus actual transportation costs.
• Collaborate with Finance to create annual transportation budgets and provide variance analyses and forecasts.
• Identify and implement cost optimization strategies through carrier negotiations, mode optimization, network design, and alignment with demand planning.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive multi-year transportation strategy for LTL, parcel, and courier services.
• Assess carrier mix, contract structures, and delivery models.
• Stay informed on market trends, carrier capacity dynamics, and emerging technologies in delivery.
• Lead RFP processes, select carriers, and negotiate contracts.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with carriers while ensuring adherence to service and cost commitments.
• Advocate for USSC transportation requirements within the Global Transportation Center of Excellence (CoE).
• Work collaboratively with Distribution Operations, Customer Experience, Sales, Finance, and IT departments.
• Communicate performance metrics, risks, and strategic initiatives to senior leadership.
• Promote the use of data and analytics in transportation decision-making.
• Maintain executive dashboards and reporting related to service, cost, and carrier performance.
• Utilize TMS, track-and-trace applications, and parcel manifesting solutions to enhance routing, carrier selection, and shipment visibility.
• Lead, mentor, and inspire transportation managers and analysts.
• Cultivate a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and customer-first thinking.
• Attract and retain top transportation talent while building organizational capability.
• A Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, operations management, business administration, engineering, healthcare administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience is required.
• A minimum of 12 years of experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, distribution, operational leadership, carrier strategy, vendor management, or a related field is required.
• At least 8 years of experience in a management role is required.
• A Master’s degree in supply chain, logistics, operations, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Certification in CSCP, CLTD, CPIM, or an equivalent certification is preferred.
• Proficiency in LTL, parcel, and courier transportation is necessary.
• Experience in carrier strategy, vendor management, contract negotiations, and RFP processes is essential.
• Familiarity with transportation P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization is required.
• Proficient in using transportation management systems, track-and-trace applications, and parcel manifesting solutions.
