This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Ensure high billable utilization by actively performing, leading, or directly supervising client projects related to IH, IAQ, asbestos, microbial/moisture intrusion, exposure monitoring, and building science service lines.
• Oversee projects from initial client engagement and proposal development through field execution, data analysis, reporting, recommendations, invoicing assistance, and client follow-up.
• Conduct or supervise asbestos inspections and air sampling, IAQ assessments, microbial/moisture investigations, occupational exposure monitoring, ventilation assessments, and building science evaluations.
• Create sampling strategies and investigation plans for RCS, particulates, VOCs, metals, noise, combustion-related issues, and other exposures.
• Analyze laboratory and instrument data in relation to applicable standards or recognized guidelines.
• Draft and review technical reports, sketches, remediation protocols, project specifications, bid documents, and closeout documentation.
• Respond to and nurture qualified inbound leads, clarify requirements, identify decision-makers, recommend service paths, and convert inquiries into confirmed work.
• Define and estimate IH/IEQ projects and engage in sales discussions.
• Re-engage past, dormant, and lapsed clients while cross-selling related services.
• Mentor junior consultants and develop standard operating procedures, checklists, templates, QA/QC processes, pricing assumptions, and service packages.
• Review proposals, scopes, sampling plans, reports, and recommendations.
• Assist with onboarding, training, safety, equipment maintenance, documentation, utilization, and report quality enhancement.
• Collaborate with leadership and the marketing agency on website content, SEO, service pages, case studies, and thought leadership.
• Convert technical services into accessible market-facing language and identify content topics that attract qualified inbound opportunities.
• Required: Illinois Asbestos Building Inspector license.
• Required: Illinois Asbestos Air Sampling Professional license, or the ability to obtain it within 90 days of hire.
• Required: Illinois Lead Risk Assessor and/or Illinois Lead Inspector license.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and a dependable vehicle.
• Minimum of 10+ years of relevant consulting experience in IH, IAQ, asbestos, microbial/moisture intrusion, occupational exposure monitoring, hazardous materials, EHS, or building science, along with formal people-management experience.
• Ability to sustain strong billable utilization while managing fieldwork, client communications, sampling strategies, chain-of-custody documentation, reporting, and project follow-up.
• Capability to independently scope, price, propose, manage, and finalize consulting projects.
• Experience in addressing client inquiries, qualifying needs, crafting proposals, and converting opportunities into work.
• Proven experience in mentoring junior staff, reviewing technical deliverables, or enhancing field/reporting standards.
• Strong expertise in sampling strategies, data interpretation, client-ready reporting, and corrective-action recommendations.
• Experience with IAQ, microbial/moisture intrusion, asbestos, occupational exposure monitoring, and several related exposure areas.
• Familiarity with OSHA, NIOSH, EPA, IDPH, ASHRAE, IICRC, and other pertinent standards or guidelines.
• Strong professional demeanor with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Physical capability to perform field assessments.
• CIH certification required within six months of onboarding.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Preferred credentials include CIH, PE, CSP, CHMM, CIEC, CMC, or similar.
• Preferred: Illinois Radon Measurement Professional or Radon Measurement Technician license.
• Preferred: Illinois Asbestos Project Designer, Project Manager, or Management Planner license where applicable.
• Existing industry relationships are preferred.
• Experience with CRM discipline, lead follow-up, proposal tracking, client reactivation, account management, or seller-doer consulting models preferred.
• Experience with building envelope assessments, asbestos abatement specifications, remediation scopes, contractor bid documents, HVAC/ventilation assessments, or industrial ventilation evaluations preferred.
• Experience collaborating with marketing teams or agencies on service positioning, SEO content, website service pages, case studies, client education, or technical thought leadership is preferred.
