This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Maintain and enhance the quality and integrity of AP Computer Science and Cyber exams, curricula, and professional development materials.
• Oversee the development and final approval of assessment items and forms across various test titles.
• Create, revise, evaluate, and manage formative and summative assessment content along with scoring resources.
• Collaborate and train with subject-matter experts, including college educators and secondary school teachers.
• Appropriately utilize generative AI in the assessment writing and review process to boost efficiency, fairness, validity, and innovation.
• Facilitate communication between academics and psychometricians to aid in assessment development.
• Lead meetings for the Test Development Committee and resolve content edits following these meetings.
• Supervise members of the Test Development Committee as they contribute content and conduct reviews.
• Direct annual AP Reading scoring events and create publications for educators and students.
• Oversee exam validity, security, reliability, fairness, quality, and reader reliability.
• Collaborate with psychometricians and AP Curriculum & Assessment staff to establish fair, reliable, and valid cut scores.
• Train, mentor, and support course experts in assessment development, AI utilization, item banks, and stakeholder engagement.
• Refine the AP Computer Science and Cyber Course Frameworks and assist in the development of new products.
• Present, speak, and facilitate discussions with academic and membership audiences as required.
• Travel 6–8 times annually, in addition to up to two extra weeks for AP Reading.
• A Master’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, networking, or a closely related field is required.
• A Doctorate in the relevant discipline is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Java is essential.
• Demonstrated expertise in computer science, cybersecurity, or networking.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in standardized assessment development or relevant work.
• Preferred experience in digital assessment and teaching.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Solid technical skills combined with a customer-oriented mindset.
• Exceptional organizational and planning abilities, with a keen attention to detail and proofreading skills.
• Capability to implement processes and procedures, manage project plans and timelines, and maintain documentation.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively.
• Ability to work proficiently at all levels and to give and receive constructive feedback.
• Willingness to travel 6–8 times per year, plus up to two additional weeks for AP Reading.
• Must be eligible and authorized to work in the United States.
