Senior Director, Global Medical Strategy – Rare Neurology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the development and execution of launch strategies and preparation activities for all medical affairs deliverables.

• Manage global medical affairs planning and collaborate with US and international teams on activities.

• Create and advance the strategic vision for assigned assets and contribute to the desired reimbursable product profile.

• Perform annual data gap analyses and create and refine product data generation plans throughout the asset lifecycle.

• Direct the global evidence generation review process for Phase IIIB and IV programs, investigator-sponsored studies, and non-interventional studies.

• Supervise the development of core content and communication strategies, including Global Publication Plans.

• Facilitate the public dissemination of product-related data.

• Ensure that US and regional offices/affiliates are informed of product-related data and coordinate medical activities across regions.

• Oversee the creation of manuscripts, presentations, symposiums, and posters.

• Act as a thought leader in the therapeutic area and engage field experts for feedback on clinical aspects, data generation, interpretation, and dissemination.

• Contribute to regulatory documents, including product labeling.

• Establish standard operating procedures and standards to ensure efficient medical operations and high-quality medical communications.

• Ensure adherence to corporate policies and standard operating procedures.


⛳️ Requirements

• MD, PhD, or PharmD with outstanding leadership experience in Medical Affairs.

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in Medical Affairs.

• At least 5-7 years of proven supervisory experience.

• Capability to lead and inspire others.

• Prior experience in launching new medications, preferably in ALS or other rare or ultra-rare diseases.

• Extensive knowledge of the company’s products, clinical development, commercialization strategy, competition, and the pharmaceutical industry.

• Demonstrated success in leading and developing high-performing teams.

• Strong statistical knowledge and ability to interpret study findings and communicate effectively.

• Proficient in managing change and influencing others.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to influence within a matrixed environment.

• Willingness to travel up to 30-40% domestically and internationally as required by the business.

• Experience or expertise in rare or ultra-rare diseases is highly preferred.
