Senior Director – Friendship Programs

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create resources, recruitment campaigns, and success metrics for Best Buddies programs across Citizens, Colleges, High Schools, Middle Schools, and Elementary Schools.

• Oversee the development and execution of the program, evaluation processes, and volunteer tracking specifically for the Friendship program pillar.

• Ensure that program staff achieve objectives related to program growth and one-to-one matching.

• Offer strategic guidance and expert support in alignment with Best Buddies’ overarching mission.

• Execute strategic initiatives aimed at expanding Friendship program chapters nationwide.

• Assess and enhance program modules and practices while establishing new management processes for school-based Friendship programs.

• Work in collaboration with Senior Directors from other programmatic pillars to establish strategic volunteer management goals and identify programmatic best practices.

• Recognize emerging trends in volunteer management and extracurricular activities.

• Serve as a public representative of Best Buddies through speaking engagements, fundraising events, conferences, and various platforms.

• Design recruitment campaigns to boost engagement within the friendship pillar.

• Supervise staff, encompassing development, oversight, performance feedback, accountability, training, support, and recognition.

• Manage human resources functions and reinforce adherence to human resources policies.

• Identify needs for capacity-building and create communication strategies and work plans with defined goals, timelines, and resource allocations.

• Oversee the budget and expenditures for the friendship program team, including recruitment campaigns, advisor stipends, and chapter growth.

• Prepare briefings, analyses, and materials for the State Operations team, various departments, and the Best Buddies Board of Directors.

• Travel as required to train and equip staff for successful management of Friendship programs globally.


⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of six years of management experience.

• Exceptional team-building and leadership capabilities.

• Strong project management abilities, including planning, analysis, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

• Willingness to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Initiative, a results-driven mindset, and self-assessment capabilities.

• Capacity to guide individuals and teams in setting and reaching ambitious goals.

• Reliability and the ability to lead by example.

• Flexibility to adjust management style to fit various situations.

• Capability to hold staff accountable for expectations, goals, benchmarks, and best practices.

• Excellent presentation skills with the ability to influence and motivate others.

• Ability to convey Best Buddies’ mission, goals, and activities with passion and enthusiasm.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database software.

• Proven expertise in managing the Best Buddies Friendship Program model and delivering its mission.

• Experience in developing and overseeing volunteer-led initiatives.

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field, along with an advanced degree or equivalent professional experience.

• Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
