Senior Director, Friendship Programs

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the creation of resources, recruitment initiatives, and success metrics for Best Buddies Citizens, Colleges, High Schools, Middle Schools, and Elementary Schools programs.

• Direct the development and execution of the Friendship program pillar, including program evaluation and volunteer tracking.

• Ensure that program staff achieve objectives related to program growth and one-to-one matching.

• Provide strategic direction and expertise to support the overall mission of Best Buddies.

• Implement strategic plans to enhance the reach of Friendship program chapters nationwide.

• Assess and improve program modules and methodologies.

• Develop management processes to maximize the impact of school-based Friendship programs.

• Collaborate with Senior Directors from other program areas on volunteer management objectives and best practices.

• Recognize emerging trends in volunteer management and extracurricular activities.

• Serve as a public representative for Best Buddies through speaking engagements, fundraising events, conferences, and various forums.

• Design recruitment campaigns to boost engagement within the Friendship pillar.

• Supervise, mentor, support, and provide performance feedback to staff members.

• Hold staff accountable for achieving development and operational goals, benchmarks, best practices, and guidelines.

• Conduct human resources activities and reinforce adherence to HR policies.

• Identify needs for capacity building and develop communications and action plans with clear goals, timelines, and resource allocations.

• Manage the budget and expenditures for the Friendship program team.

• Prepare briefings, analyses, and other documents for State Operations, other departments, and the Best Buddies Board of Directors.

• Travel as required to train and equip staff to effectively manage successful Friendship programs globally.


⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of six years of management experience.

• Exceptional team building and leadership abilities.

• Strong project management skills, encompassing planning, analysis, decision-making, and problem-solving.

• Willingness to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Initiative, results-driven mindset, and self-assessment capabilities.

• Capacity to guide individuals and teams in setting and accomplishing ambitious goals.

• Reliability and the ability to lead by example.

• Adaptability in management style to suit various situations.

• Ability to hold staff accountable for meeting expectations.

• Excellent presentation skills.

• Capability to influence, motivate, and communicate Best Buddies’ mission, goals, and activities effectively.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and database software.

• Proven expertise in managing the Best Buddies Friendship Program model and mission execution.

• Experience in developing and overseeing volunteer-led initiatives.

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, along with an advanced degree or equivalent professional experience.

• Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
