Senior Director, FP&A – Retail Finance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.

📋 Description

• Oversee financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting with a strong focus on operational alignment and execution.

• Act as a financial partner to leaders across merchandising, operations, technology, and service sectors.

• Enhance visibility into unit economics, customer and cohort behavior, margins, and operational KPIs, converting insights into performance enhancements.

• Develop and modernize forecasting models, operational reports, and dashboards driven by business metrics.

• Spearhead the integration of AI and automation within the FP&A function.

• Establish a vision for an AI-centric finance department by identifying relevant use cases, assessing tools, and creating responsible workflows.

• Assist in scenario planning and investment analysis.

• Collaborate with Accounting and central PROG finance teams to ensure accurate and aligned financial data and reporting.

• Create scalable processes for a growing organization.

• Lead, mentor, and cultivate a high-performing FP&A team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of progressive experience in FP&A, operational finance, or related fields, including leading and developing teams.

• Demonstrated retail experience is essential.

• Strong grasp of unit economics, gross margin management, merchandising and assortment strategy, promotional planning, and customer cohort performance.

• Capability to closely partner with business leaders and influence operational decisions.

• Advanced financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical skills.

• Ability to link financial outcomes to operational drivers and strategic initiatives.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convert complex data into clear, executive-ready insights.

• Comfort in operating within high-growth, mid-sized, or dynamic settings with a hands-on approach.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.

• Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle or Workday.

• Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.

• Familiarity with SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or Snowflake is highly regarded.

• Hands-on experience with AI or large language model tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot is preferred.

• Experience in piloting or implementing AI- or automation-enabled forecasting, variance analysis, or reporting workflows is a plus.

• An MBA or professional certification such as CPA or CFA is preferred.
