This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Recruit, develop, and manage the events execution team (including meeting planners and event managers) to provide consistent, high-quality experiences for conferences and workshops across the portfolio.
• Take ownership of daily operational leadership for conference logistics, encompassing food and beverage (F&B), room assignments, exhibit execution, and workshop delivery.
• Act as the main point of escalation for onsite execution challenges, coordinating with event managers, vendors, and conference leadership to address issues in real time.
• Lead execution planning and preparedness for assigned conferences, ensuring that milestones, dependencies, and vendor deliverables are monitored and achieved.
• Collaborate with the VP of Production on budget oversight, vendor performance, and ongoing enhancements of execution workflows.
• Provide execution insights, potential constraints, and opportunities to the VP of Production and conference product leadership to aid in portfolio planning and sponsor viability.
• Maintain consistent execution standards across all events, guiding team members on best practices, stakeholder management, and onsite leadership.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• 8-10+ years of experience in conference/event management with a focus on progressive leadership.
• Proven experience overseeing teams of 3 or more direct reports in high-volume event settings.
• Extensive knowledge of conference logistics, including food and beverage, room blocks, and exhibit coordination.
• Strong skills in vendor management and negotiation.
• Experience in managing budgets for event portfolios.
• Excellence in onsite execution and the ability to solve problems in real-time.
• Proficient in event management platforms, particularly Cvent.
• At least 5 years of experience in healthcare or medical conference management.
• Understanding of Continuing Medical Education (CME) compliance and accreditation standards.
• Background in managing pharma-sponsored medical education events.
• Knowledge of healthcare professional (HCP) audience expectations and engagement preferences.
• Familiarity with dermatology or specialty medicine conferences is preferred.
