This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of and enhance the regional field medical strategy for the designated territory, ensuring impactful, balanced, evidence-based scientific exchange while representing Iovance as a reliable and trusted partner within the healthcare community.
• Deliver high-quality scientific and clinical presentations on relevant disease states and Iovance products (both approved and in the pipeline) to internal and external audiences; ensure the correct use of approved materials, coach others in effective scientific communication, and maintain compliance standards.
• Strategically identify, map, and profile external experts (such as KOLs, investigators, and stakeholders in advocacy and healthcare systems) and create and implement territory engagement plans that prioritize the highest-impact accounts while informing enterprise medical objectives.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with healthcare professionals and clinical investigators in both academic and community settings; actively seek scientific collaboration opportunities that align with the medical plan (including publications, advisory boards, investigator-initiated research support, and clinical trials, as applicable) and collaborate with internal teams to facilitate execution.
• Establish and uphold a high standard for insight quality by gathering, synthesizing, and relaying actionable field medical insights utilizing approved tools and processes; identify trends, elevate insights to internal stakeholders, and aid in driving insight-to-action discussions and follow-through.
• Provide scientific leadership for Medical Affairs activities and scientific sessions at major congresses and meetings; develop and implement regional congress engagement strategies in conjunction with internal stakeholders and support post-congress medical initiatives.
• Foster robust cross-functional collaborations (including Medical Affairs, Clinical Science, Clinical Operations, Market Access, and Commercial) to ensure coordinated implementation of the medical plan, appropriate and compliant information flow, and alignment on key regional priorities.
• Exemplify inclusive and professional leadership behaviors while contributing to a collaborative team culture through effective communication, dependable follow-through, and constructive partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Utilize strong problem-solving, prioritization, and decision-making skills to tackle complex field challenges; anticipate the needs of patients and the healthcare community, propose solutions aligned with medical strategy, and appropriately escalate risks and opportunities.
• Exhibit deep scientific and clinical expertise along with executive presence, capable of clearly, accurately, and compliantly conveying complex data to diverse audiences and influencing medical decision-making.
• Offer leadership and coaching (such as onboarding, field shadowing, sharing best practices, and peer mentoring) while contributing to the enhancement of field medical capabilities; may serve as a people manager and/or lead initiatives as required.
• Operate in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies (including scientific exchange, privacy, and adverse event reporting) and promptly escalate queries or concerns through established channels.
• Adhere to the core values, policies, procedures, and business ethics of Iovance Biotherapeutics.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 60% of the time within the assigned territory, as business requirements dictate.
• 12 to 15+ years of relevant experience in the biopharmaceutical/biotechnology industry, including 7 to 10+ years in Medical Affairs and/or an MSL role with increasing scope, strategic leadership, and accountability.
• Advanced scientific degree (MD, PhD, PharmD).
• Proven capacity in needs assessment, facilitation, prioritization, decision making, collaboration, planning and organizing, execution, and follow-up, alongside strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to influence senior stakeholders in a matrixed environment.
• Strong meeting management skills and operational capabilities, including the use of metrics/KPIs, documentation, and continuous improvement to ensure consistent field execution.
• Demonstrated ability to influence and align stakeholders within a complex matrix environment without direct authority; comfortable engaging with senior leaders and external experts.
