This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Belgium.
• Spearhead the formulation and implementation of CATF’s pan-European policy advocacy strategy, ensuring alignment between regional priorities and global objectives.
• Participate in our senior leadership team to harmonize priorities, resources, and investments throughout the organization.
• Cultivate and empower a high-performing team of 7 policy experts and consultants distributed across various locations.
• Lead regional fundraising efforts in collaboration with the Development team, responsible for driving revenue growth, engaging donors, and securing sustainable funding for European initiatives.
• Direct regional advocacy activities that promote practical climate solutions within Europe’s intricate political, economic, and energy landscape.
• Enhance CATF’s public presence and mitigate risks by ensuring the delivery of high-quality, consistent messaging—acting as the final reviewer for external documents such as reports, policy briefs, white papers, and press releases.
• Represent CATF in discussions with European institutions, national governments, funders, industry leaders, media, and other high-profile stakeholders.
• Manage regional resources, including team planning, budgeting, consultant support, and prioritization across European projects.
• Extensive senior leadership experience, with a minimum of 10 years in management, strategy, policy, advocacy, or a related domain.
• Profound knowledge of European energy and climate policy, political dynamics, and private sector involvement, or relevant experience in a similar field.
• Experience engaging with European Union institutions, Member States, including Central and Eastern Europe, the UK, or other European policy contexts.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and lead regional or multinational strategies within complex policy, nonprofit, advocacy, or technical settings.
• Strong history of engaging with senior stakeholders, including government officials, industry leaders, funders, and multilateral organizations.
• At least 6 years of experience in directly leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams across various cultures, locations, or disciplines.
• Experience overseeing significant budgets, resources, priorities, and organizational trade-offs in a mission-oriented environment.
• Proficiency in English and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external senior-level audiences.
