• We are sharpening our focus. Essentials serves as our core pay equity and pay analytics platform—one that most of our clients engage with daily, forming the backbone of our customer relationships and funding the company. It requires a dedicated leader.
• This individual will be responsible for the platform that predominantly represents Syndio for our customers today: overseeing the analyses, workflows, and the Data Hub that processes and reconciles HR and compensation data for all clients we support. Essentials is vital for our company’s funding, strengthens our customer ties, and positions us to innovate further.
• The mission is straightforward. Maintain Essentials as sharp, fast, and dependable. Evolve it for the AI-driven future. Transform it into the platform that our customers wish more of their software resembled.
• You will collaborate with multiple engineering teams across the Essentials product spectrum, including the Data Hub. You will inherit capable managers and engineers who have consistently delivered—your role is to enhance their effectiveness.
• You will have end-to-end ownership of the roadmap and delivery, including what is released, when, and at what quality standard. Partner closely with product, go-to-market (GTM), and customer success to ensure a predictable cadence for the entire company.
• Lead platform modernization initiatives. Implement AI-enhanced engineering practices, develop agent-friendly architectures, and establish tighter feedback loops with customers. Ensure that speed and quality enhance one another rather than compromise.
• Focus on customer outcomes. Shorten time-to-value for new clients, minimize friction for existing ones, and increase platform engagement with each release.
• Foster cross-functional partnerships. Collaborate closely with engineering and product leaders across the organization. Ensure workstreams support one another rather than compete.
• Engage in hiring, leveling, and growth. Build a high-performing team that meets our standards, nurtures talent, and elevates expectations with each new hire.
• You have led a multi-team, customer-facing engineering organization at significant scale, preferably within B2B SaaS that serves enterprise clients.
• You have a proven history of delivering products efficiently. You excel at rolling out products while continuously improving them, avoiding lengthy planning cycles that disconnect from customer needs.
• You approach challenges with a systems and outcomes mindset, rather than simply managing tickets. You can oversee a roadmap, a budget, and a team, ensuring the customer perspective remains central.
• You are well-versed in AI operations. You have utilized modern AI tools to enhance your team’s development processes and view this capability as essential rather than a novelty.
• You collaborate effectively with product and GTM teams. You understand how to establish a delivery rhythm that provides predictability for sales, customer success, and marketing.
• You are direct, transparent, and trustworthy. You speak up when something seems amiss, avoiding sugarcoating. You expect the same honesty from your team.
• You adhere to a crawl, walk, run approach, prioritizing action and learning over creating perfect plans in isolation.
• Extra Credit
• Experience in HR technology, compensation systems, HRIS integrations, or pay equity/pay analytics.
• Background in scaling data-intensive platforms—covering aspects such as ingestion, normalization, customer-specific schemas, and multi-tenant data modeling.
• Experience leading an established product through significant re-platforming or an AI-driven rebuild.
• Competitive Compensation. The target salary for this role ranges from $238,000 to $280,000 per year. Final offer amounts are based on factors such as experience and expertise. We adopt a geo-neutral approach to compensation within the US, ensuring pay is determined by job function and level, not geographical location.
• Syndio Equity. Enjoy the opportunity to share in Syndio’s success.
• Flexible Vacation Policy. We encourage our team to take time to recharge as needed, along with paid sick and safe time, compassion leave, and voting leave.
• Paid parental leave.
• Medical, Dental, Vision. Syndio covers 90% of employee premiums and 50% for dependents.
• Life Insurance & Disability. Syndio pays the full premium.
• 401(k). Aiding you in saving for your future.
