Senior Director – Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop an integration strategy for engineering processes, tools, and delivery schedules that enhances consistency while avoiding unnecessary complexity.

• Facilitate alignment and execution among various engineering teams responsible for delivering both cloud and on-premises releases.

• Collaborate with Product and Architecture to convert priorities into actionable roadmaps, milestones, and release schedules.

• Manage inter-team dependencies; proactively identify risks, eliminate obstacles, and escalate issues with clear options and recommendations.

• Advocate for consistent engineering quality standards (test strategies, release readiness criteria, defect management) and ensure that deliverables align with expectations.

• Ensure that security, privacy, and compliance considerations are integrated into delivery practices (e.g., HIPAA/GDPR where applicable).

• Create a practical operating rhythm for status updates, risk/issue assessments, and release readiness reporting to leadership.

• Mentor and develop engineering leaders and teams through transitions; assist with hiring and talent development as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related STEM discipline (or equivalent hands-on experience).

• Over 12 years of experience in software engineering, including more than 5 years in leadership roles managing engineering teams.

• Proven experience in delivering enterprise software across both cloud and on-premises platforms (release management, deployments/upgrades, customer operations).

• Demonstrated ability to lead intricate cross-team projects that necessitate the integration of systems, processes, and delivery execution.

• Strong technical expertise in contemporary engineering practices (CI/CD, automation, observability, reliability, and secure development).

• Established capability to influence and communicate effectively with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
