Senior Director, Design Engineering – AI/ML System Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +7 more states.

📋 Description

• Define intricate AI/ML infrastructure platform solutions and guide a multi-disciplinary team towards implementation.

• Engage extensively and focus through EVT, transitioning out thereafter.

• Ensure that overall design quality metrics are achieved.

• Develop and uphold strong technical relationships with suppliers and partners regarding product roadmaps and technologies.

• Lead technical responses to RFQs and contribute to Celestica platform concept development efforts as necessary.

• Provide thorough trade-off analysis and competitive insights to engineering teams and customers.

• Deliverables include System Requirements Documents (SRD), compliance assessments, and technical proposals.

• Serve as the primary technical contact between Celestica and our customers, especially during technical escalations.

• Offer technical support to business development teams to facilitate the acquisition of new business.

• Participate in the selection and hiring of design team members as required.

• Identify and advocate for process improvement initiatives as needed.

• Engage in standards committees and industry groups as assigned.

• Prepare and deliver technical presentations to customers, industry groups, tradeshows, etc.

• Stay updated on industry trends and future technology and market opportunities.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 15 years of experience in Server and/or AI/ML accelerator hardware design.

• At least 5 years of experience in AI Infrastructure system design.

• Proficiency with Nvidia, AMD, Intel, or other contemporary GPU accelerators and their support systems.

• A comprehensive understanding of current digital and analog components.

• Proven track record of Successful New Product Introduction (NPI) launches.

• Extensive knowledge of system-level power, cooling, mechanical, software/firmware, and electrical design integration and engineering trade-offs.

• Prior involvement in industry groups and associations is preferred.

• Experience in system-level integration, interoperability, and testing is desired.

• Familiarity with system-level manufacturing testing is also preferred.
