This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Take charge of the system of record, ensuring the DCIM platform serves as the authoritative source for capacity, assets, power topology, and facility status, while maintaining accuracy and trust across operations, engineering, sales, and finance.
• Enhance data quality by establishing telemetry standards, point naming conventions, and data-quality governance, grading data health to identify and rectify issues before they lead to revenue loss or poor decision-making.
• Initiate consolidation efforts by unifying the configuration management database and integrating disparate systems into a singular operational truth.
• Oversee capacity planning, forecasting, and optimization for power, space, and cooling, including utility load-ramp forecasts.
• Manage reserves and utilization by reconciling committed, drawn, and utilized power, adjusting reserves to safeguard both sellable inventory and uptime.
• Leverage data to support business decisions by conducting technical design reviews, cage plots, and density-feasibility analyses, providing a clear, data-driven view of capacity.
• Stabilize control systems by taking ownership of building automation and controls, establishing standards for operational sequences and alarm management, while fine-tuning the mechanical and electrical environments for reliability and efficiency.
• Manage the instrumentation layer by overseeing branch-circuit monitoring, environmental monitoring, and power-data acquisition, ensuring that each usage-based site is fully instrumented prior to customer activation.
• Address metering gaps by leading initiatives to close remaining monitoring discrepancies, treating data integrity as a crucial component of revenue protection.
• Safeguard billing integrity by managing the data related to PUE-based billing, usage, PUE, and rates, employing anomaly detection, variance flagging, and reconstruction methods to prevent revenue leakage.
• Take ownership of operational metrics, including utilization, salable and built capacity, forecast accuracy, automation coverage, PUE, and WUE, which contribute to financial and capital reporting.
• Identify data risks by utilizing operational data and modeling, including redundancy and failover modeling (N+1, 2N), to proactively detect risks and relay prioritized actions to teams for timely remediation.
• Stabilize and develop the team by overseeing capacity engineering, operations engineering, controls, and telemetry groups, clarifying roles, addressing gaps, and fostering a disciplined and proud operational unit.
• Create a resilient function by documenting processes and cross-training staff to ensure knowledge is well-distributed within the team, collaborating across Facilities, Engineering, Construction, Sales, Product, IT, and Finance.
• Proven leadership experience in controls, BAS, DCIM, capacity engineering, or telemetry teams within mission-critical settings.
• Comprehensive knowledge of BAS and controls, telemetry, and DCIM; capable of interpreting trend logs, one-lines, and capacity models effectively.
• Strong understanding of MEP systems, switchgear, UPS, generators, chillers, CRAH and CRAC units, and PDUs, and their behavior under load and during failover scenarios.
• Familiarity with colocation capacity mechanics, including reserves, utilization, and PUE-based billing practices.
• Experience with DCIM and branch-circuit and environmental monitoring, as well as integrating systems via BACnet, Modbus, and SNMP protocols.
• A proven track record of improving complex environments, resulting in cleaner data, more composed operations, and stronger teams, alongside established credibility with frontline technicians and shift leaders.
• Medical, Telehealth, Dental, and Vision coverage
• 401(k) plan
