
Senior Director, Data Center Construction Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee all stages of infrastructure construction across various large-scale powered land and data center development sites throughout the country.
• Manage requests for proposals (RFPs), review bids, and negotiate contracts with general contractors, civil firms, utility partners, and significant equipment vendors.
• Direct field operations, ensuring that schedule, budget, safety, and quality standards are upheld across all ongoing projects.
• Review and analyze engineering drawings and construction documents to identify potential risks, resolve design conflicts, and foresee issues before they arise.
• Lead the onboarding process for contractors and vendors, ensuring clarity on scope, deliverables, and performance expectations.
• Manage changes effectively, ensuring cost and schedule implications are thoroughly validated and justified.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams such as development, energy, engineering, and finance to ensure construction aligns with project and business goals.
• Establish and maintain project controls, including progress reporting, risk tracking, schedule management, and cost forecasting.
• Develop and implement consistent standards for construction management, reporting, and quality assurance across all sites.
• Act as the company’s on-site representative when necessary, advocating for ownership interests with contractors, utilities, and partners.
• A minimum of 10 years of construction management experience, preferably in data centers, energy, utility, or large-scale industrial infrastructure projects.
• Solid background in infrastructure (power, substation, civil, utilities) construction management.
• Bonus: experience with power generation projects, particularly natural gas plants or large electrical interconnection infrastructure.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver complex, multi-stakeholder projects on schedule and within budget.
• Comprehensive understanding of construction sequencing, design coordination, and field execution.
• Capability to foresee and mitigate problems through proactive planning and direct communication.
• Strong commercial savvy — adept at evaluating bids, negotiating with contractors, and managing change orders.
• Outstanding leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
• Willingness and capability to travel 50–75% to project sites nationwide as required.
