This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Collaborate with senior executives and HR leadership to oversee the compensation philosophy and associated strategies.
• Manage base and variable pay plans and programs, including the annual merit planning cycle.
• Conduct research, analyze data, and monitor trends to provide recommendations for enhancements.
• Administer the long-term incentive program, including modeling, grant and vesting events, and communication efforts.
• Offer oversight and assistance to the Compensation Manager in the administration of annual incentive plans.
• Oversee the organization's global mobility and relocation programs.
• Supervise the job evaluation process to ensure accurate classification and compensation of positions.
• Engage in market surveys, analyze data, and aid in managing salary structures.
• Provide guidance and act as a collaborative resource partner to management, Human Resources, and Talent Acquisition.
• Align compensation strategies with performance management systems.
• Develop metrics and criteria for performance-based pay to ensure that reward systems are equitable, transparent, and aligned with compliance and governance.
• Monitor applicable laws, regulations, and trends pertaining to compensation practices.
• Ensure that programs comply with legal standards and are regarded as best or leading market practices.
• Communicate compensation policies, programs, and changes effectively to employees.
• Analyze compensation data, metrics, and trends to evaluate the effectiveness of current programs and identify areas for improvement.
• Generate reports for management and executives, offering insights and recommendations.
• Manage the compensation department budget, ensuring that compensation programs are fiscally responsible and align with budget expectations.
• Oversee executive perks, including supplemental insurance, financial planning, severance, and other programs.
• Prepare and/or review meeting materials and compensation analytics for the Human Resources Committee.
• Lead the team responsible for planning and executing all compensation-related programs and activities.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in Compensation and/or Human Resources is required.
• At least 5 years of experience in a supervisory or management role is necessary.
• Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation and/or Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) certification is preferred.
• Knowledge of legal, financial, accounting, tax, and regulatory impacts on compensation, benefits, and global mobility matters.
• Develops departmental policies, practices, and procedures that significantly impact the organization.
• Ability to meet time-sensitive deadlines while maintaining strict confidentiality of information at all times.
• Capability to foster collaboration and teamwork.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with the Board of Directors, Executive Leaders, and the employee population.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge and skills in Excel.
