📋 Description

• Oversee the global compensation function and team while establishing the strategic vision for worldwide compensation initiatives, policies, practices, and governance.

• Provide counsel to executive leadership, COLT, and Talent & Culture management regarding compensation strategy, competitiveness, and potential risks.

• Guide, mentor, and develop the compensation team.

• Design, manage, and implement global compensation programs, which encompass salary structures, annual reviews, incentives, bonuses, recognition, geographic pay, and equity compensation.

• Assist in executive compensation through market benchmarking, pay analysis, peer evaluations, employment arrangements, and strategic recommendations.

• Prepare analyses, recommendations, and documentation for the Compensation Committee and Board of Directors.

• Define and enhance Calix’s compensation philosophy, ensuring that programs are competitive, equitable, scalable, and aligned with business goals.

• Lead initiatives in job architecture, job leveling, career frameworks, and market pricing strategies.

• Manage annual compensation planning cycles that cover merit increases, promotions, equity, and incentives.

• Collaborate with Finance on compensation investments, workforce planning, and financial implications.

• Ensure adherence to global compensation regulations and new legislation.

• Analyze market trends and propose improvements to compensation programs and policies.

• Supervise compensation technology, analytics, reporting, and process enhancements.

• Provide compensation expertise for mergers, acquisitions, organizational redesigns, expansion into new markets, and other strategic initiatives.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• A minimum of 15 years of progressive compensation experience, with significant exposure to the technology industry.

• At least 7 years of experience in leading compensation teams and developing compensation professionals.

• Extensive knowledge of global compensation strategy, executive compensation, equity programs, incentive design, market pricing, and compensation governance.

• Significant experience in managing compensation programs within a publicly traded company.

• Strong background in executive compensation, including support for Compensation Committees and Board-level engagements.

• Experience preparing for and presenting at Board meetings, as well as familiarity with CD&A.

• Proficiency with compensation survey providers and market pricing tools such as Aon/Radford, Mercer, or WTW.

• Keen interest and motivation to integrate AI into compensation programs.

• Strong experience with Workday and BetterComp for compensation administration.

• Exceptional analytical, financial modeling, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.

• Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation is preferred.

• Willingness to travel up to 15% and attend periodic in-person meetings.
