Senior Director, Clinical Programs

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee high-impact initiatives that promote GeneDx’s mission in rare disease diagnostics and precision medicine.

• Take charge of program ownership while managing a team of clinical program managers.

• Propel strategic initiatives within the Clinical Development team, encompassing clinical research programs, medical input on product development, and regulatory support.

• Assist in the design and implementation of evidence generation strategies for established clinical programs.

• Collaborate with internal partners to design and execute projects that align with established clinical programs and evidence generation strategies.

• Work alongside internal and external stakeholders on prospective clinical and translational research initiatives.

• Supervise the development, review, and submission of scientific manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and other publications related to clinical programs.

• Serve as a subject matter expert in rare diseases and genomic diagnostics for both internal teams and external stakeholders.

• Guide and mentor clinical program managers, including resource allocation, coaching, and performance feedback.

⛳️ Requirements

• PhD, MD (or equivalent) with board certification by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (or equivalent) is required.

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in a clinical laboratory or industry role as a board-certified ABMGG fellow is required.

• At least 5 years of experience in a medical affairs or clinical development role is required.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience leading research initiatives related to molecular diagnostics in rare diseases is required.

• Strong knowledge of clinical genetics concerning rare diseases is essential.

• A robust publication record is necessary.

• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with other teams and external partners to advance strategic initiatives.

• Experience in the rare disease biopharma sector is preferred.

• Proven ability to address complex problems and negotiate business agreements.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must.

• Exceptional skills in presentation and public speaking are required.

• Capability to work independently while managing time effectively.

• Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.

• Proven experience in leading teams and collaborating with cross-functional partners to achieve project and program objectives.

• Proficient in using databases and Microsoft Office Suite.
