This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• The Senior Director of Business Development – PSS is an integral member of the Corporate Business Development Management team tasked with formulating long-term strategic plans focused on fostering and maintaining business growth within the designated territory.
• Overseeing business development initiatives to meet sales targets and secure new business, from initial identification through to contract award, including managing the proposal process.
• Building and nurturing relationships with senior executives in client organizations as well as within UBC.
• Identifying opportunities for services such as Reimbursement Hubs, Nurse Call Centers (Clinical), Site of Care solutions, a range of technology-enabled services, Call Center/Hotline opportunities, and Field solutions.
• Seeking specialty products (medical and pharmacy benefits) anticipated to receive approval in the assigned territory.
• Securing clients and documenting sales process interactions using UBC Salesforce.com.
• Collaborating with internal teams in operations, implementation, pricing, proposals, and product development.
• Conducting research to identify clients, cultivate relationships, and deliver comprehensive presentations.
• Providing strategic direction and obtaining approval for the sales plan and budget.
• Regularly evaluating the competitive landscape and identifying potential opportunities and trends.
• Crafting consistent brand value propositions and messaging.
• Relaying trends and opportunities to the UBC leadership team.
• Partnering with marketing to execute external campaigns as assigned.
• A bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline (preferred) with at least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in pharmaceutical and service industries, including 5 years in business development management; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• A strong background in sales with the ability to generate and cultivate a robust pipeline.
• Familiarity with the needs of the pharmaceutical and biotech industries.
• Knowledge of patient access, patient services, managed markets, market access, and Trade/Specialty Pharmacy procurement and distribution.
• Understanding of commercialization/drug launch, drug development principles, and legislation/policy related to drug pricing and reimbursement.
• A comprehensive understanding of channel areas/services including managed care, trade development, reimbursement (Pharmacy, Medical, etc.), and Nursing/Call Centers and Pharmacy solutions.
• Insight into Hub Servicing (UBC operates 5 US Hubs with over 1000 staff), specialty pharmacies, and distributors, including their necessity, leverage, and differentiation in value to potential buyers.
• Knowledge of specialty and high-value therapeutics, as well as payer/insurance principles and mindset.
• Strategic business and industry awareness with the ability to interpret emerging industry trends that affect growth.
• Established relationships within the target customer base, including biopharma and consulting firms.
• Proficient analytical skills and experience in assessing and managing a sales territory.
• Demonstrated success in deal negotiation and closing.
• Exceptional presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Proven track record of exceeding market growth in sales management.
• Capability to forge and sustain effective working relationships with colleagues, managers, and clients.
• A successful history of fulfilling commitments and optimizing financial returns from growth businesses through strategic vision formulation and the execution of operational plans for the assigned region.
