This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the forecasting of current-year AP volume, assessing whether registration fluctuations indicate genuine risks or mere noise.
• Analyze the factors contributing to forecast shifts by utilizing stakeholder insights and historical data.
• Relay findings and recommended actions to relevant stakeholders.
• Keep a record of forecasting assumptions, inputs, and adjustments made during the cycle.
• Create and enhance volume projection models for future years based on school-level data.
• Implement and evaluate AI/ML forecasting methods to boost accuracy and expand the forecasting timeline.
• Manage forecast risks among various groups and decide when to maintain or adjust projections.
• Establish a foundation that links volume forecasts to AP's participation target for 2040.
• Define, carry out, and analyze statistical assessments related to supply and demand factors impacting AP.
• Convert analytical insights into actionable recommendations for division leaders concerning AP participation and achievement disparities.
• Recognize and prioritize gaps in analytical infrastructure.
• Bridge data deficiencies through enhanced utilization of current data, sourcing additional data, and fostering cross-team collaborations.
• Balance proactive initiatives to close gaps with the need to address emergent ad hoc analytical requests.
• Guide junior team members and provide counsel to senior colleagues on forecasting and statistical inquiries.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in forecasting, statistical modeling, or a comparable analytical role.
• In-depth knowledge of strategy and analysis.
• Proven success in applying statistical and forecasting techniques to tangible business or policy challenges.
• Proficiency in data interpretation and visualization.
• Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to simplify complex information into clear and engaging narratives.
• Experience with AI/ML methodologies for forecasting or predictive modeling.
• Capability to advise senior colleagues on forecasting and statistical matters.
• Ability to mentor junior staff effectively.
• Judicious in managing risks and uncertainties across various stakeholder groups.
• Outstanding communication skills across different formats and audiences.
• A bachelor's degree is mandatory.
• Willingness to travel 3–5 times annually to College Board locations or for related business.
