Senior Director – AI Engineering, Applied AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead, nurture, and mentor a high-achieving engineering team.

• Attract top talent and establish hiring strategy directions.

• Spearhead the design and deployment of AI solutions for LLM-driven decision automation, fraud detection, and process optimization.

• Collaborate with stakeholders and product managers to convert business objectives into engineering roadmaps.

• Establish best practices for model evaluation, governance, and monitoring.

• Create and uphold systems for ongoing model monitoring, A/B testing, backtesting, and drift detection.

• Work in partnership with UX designers, product teams, and engineering leaders to ensure alignment of AI capabilities across the platform.

• Define the technical vision for resilient, scalable, and responsibly governed AI systems.

• Provide transformative AI solutions that tackle real business challenges and enhance FICO's platform capabilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in building and leading engineering teams that deliver advanced AI solutions.

• In-depth knowledge of Large Language Models and their application in decision automation, fraud detection, and process optimization.

• Over 15 years of industry experience in software, machine learning, or data engineering.

• Proven experience in leading complex, large-scale projects and applying LLMs to practical challenges.

• Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring abilities.

• Practical experience in model fine-tuning, in-context learning, and developing custom evaluation frameworks.

• Proficient in backtesting, A/B testing, and drift detection methodologies.

• Knowledge of model monitoring, governance, and compliance practices.

• Capability to design scalable, secure AI and data-driven systems.

• Familiarity with AI compliance and regulatory standards.

• Proficient understanding of contemporary software engineering practices and design patterns.

• Excellent skills in cross-functional collaboration.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or a related discipline.
