Senior DevSecOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop, maintain, and provide support for PACER account registration and management, authentication, billing, Case Locator, and associated internal systems.

• Oversee compliance with PCI and other security standards by employing secure development practices.

• Engage in requirements gathering, design, analysis, development, testing, deployment, support, and maintenance throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Create and sustain enterprise-level software utilizing C, Java, JSF, PrimeFaces, JavaScript, CSS, and/or Linux shell.

• Design and develop secure web services using SOAP, REST, WSDL, XSD, XML, and/or JSON.

• Independently and collaboratively design and create efficient, scalable, and resilient software solutions.

• Document and create use cases, test cases, and results of system validation.

• Participate in Agile planning, retrospectives, demos, and stand-ups.

• Review and confirm functional requirements, system descriptions, and design artifacts; prepare comprehensive documentation packages.

• Analyze project documents and modification requests for their impact and feasibility.

• Define, document, and maintain system and software architectures in alignment with enterprise standards.

• Implement secure engineering practices, vulnerability remediation, and compliance activities related to ATO, PCI, and FISMA.

• Conduct performance analysis, capacity planning, and system tuning.

• Design and test continuity of operations and disaster recovery capabilities.

• Manage software configurations, version control, source code repositories, and change control processes.

• Provide knowledge transfer, training, and documentation for Technical Points of Contact.

• Assess and recommend emerging technologies, frameworks, and tools to enhance efficiency and minimize technical debt.

• Facilitate secure public access to court electronic records for the Administrative Office of the United States Courts.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in IT system engineering, systems development, coding, and programming.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• Thorough understanding of security compliance and security controls.

• Proficiency in C, Java, JSF, Tomcat, PrimeFaces, JavaScript, CSS, and/or Linux shell.

• Extensive experience in implementing and supporting end-to-end automated DevSecOps pipelines and processes.

• Strong experience with RedHat Linux.

• Significant experience with Cloud APIs and cloud technologies, including programming expertise.

• Proven experience providing engineering support for software applications throughout the full DevOps pipeline.

• Capability to adapt to varying enterprise security requirements.

• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Bash, Subversion, and JetBrains Tool Suite.

• Experience in developing and managing CI/CD pipelines for a diverse range of applications.

• Background in implementing DevSecOps using Jenkins, GitLab, or similar tools.

• Experience in developing, testing, and maintaining containerized applications.

• Working knowledge of source version control, build/release tools and methodologies, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Understanding of the software build process.

• A strong "security first" mindset.

• Excellent presentation and communication capabilities.

• Ability to engage with high-level customer stakeholders and cultivate customer relationships.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

• Preferred: Experience with Perl.
