Senior DevOps Engineer – Smart City Open Source

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Play a pivotal role in shaping the future of a dynamic and innovative company dedicated to Open Source and reusable software solutions.

• Elevate your passion for smart home technology and automation by assisting our clients focused on Smart Cities in addressing challenges in various domains like data management, mobility, energy, and climate.

• Collaborate with a talented team to design cutting-edge software architectures and implement them utilizing modern technologies.

• Oversee the entire lifecycle of solutions, from initial prototypes to full production deployment.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in IT, ideally with a concentration on software development and operations.

• A degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Electrical Engineering, or completion of IT-related vocational training.

• Career changers with relevant additional training or substantial professional experience are encouraged to apply.

• Proficiency in German at a minimum C1 level, with the ability to use it effectively in a professional setting.

• Comfortable with customer interactions and willing to conduct training sessions and workshops (approximately twice a month, remote).

• Familiarity with DevOps tools, experience in working with microservices in the cloud, and knowledge of agile development environments.

• Experience with Software-as-a-Service, containers, Kubernetes, or automated deployments—experience gained through personal projects is also acceptable.

• Strong analytical skills that enable quick engagement in new projects and collaboration with clients to develop customized solutions.

• A passion for systematic problem-solving of technical challenges.

• Ideally, prior experience with Open Source through personal projects.

• Proficiency in various scripting or programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python, Go, C#, or shell scripts, with a drive to swiftly learn new languages.

• Familiarity with CI/CD, GitOps, Helm, Ansible, or Terraform.

• Willingness to take on occasional on-call duties on weekends (daytime only and compensated).
