This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Operation, enhancement, and management of multiple Kubernetes clusters deployed on virtual machines.
• Accountability for Linux-based systems, including physical servers, virtual machines, and NAS systems.
• Creation and maintenance of a stable, manageable, and auditable platform landscape.
• Automation of operational, deployment, and maintenance processes (Bash is essential; additional tools are welcomed).
• Implementation of security-by-design principles: system hardening.
• Development of access control concepts.
• Management of secrets.
• Logging, monitoring, and ensuring traceability.
• Technical realization of requirements related to security and compliance, converting standards into specific technical controls.
• Construction of audit-ready structures, documentation, and evidence.
• Handling incidents within the infrastructure context (2nd level), including analysis and sustainable remediation.
• Ongoing enhancement of the stability, security, and transparency of our systems.
• Several years of experience in managing complex Linux infrastructures.
• Strong practical experience with Kubernetes in production environments.
• In-depth understanding of Linux systems, networking, and storage solutions.
• Excellent Bash skills and a strong inclination towards automation.
• Comprehensive knowledge of IT security, including system and network hardening.
• Familiarity with access control and identity management concepts.
• Proficiency in logging, monitoring, and incident response procedures.
• Experience or significant interest in security and compliance topics such as C5, ISO 27018, or similar standards.
• Capability to implement security and compliance requirements in a practical and technically sound manner.
• Structured and responsible work ethic — you design systems to endure audits.
• Passion for building systems efficiently from the ground up and sustaining them long-term.
• Proficient German language skills.
