Senior DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, and maintain scalable and highly available cloud infrastructure on the Google Cloud Platform.

• Lead efforts to enhance and optimize CI/CD pipelines, ensuring efficient, automated, and secure deployments across various environments.

• Implement solutions for monitoring, logging, and alerting to uphold system health, availability, and performance.

• Work alongside software engineers to incorporate platform best practices into application development and deployment.

• Support and improve Kafka utilization for our event-driven services, concentrating on reliability and throughput optimization.

• Diagnose and resolve issues across the infrastructure, networking, and application layers.

• Contribute to infrastructure as code methodologies using tools like Terraform.

• Propel cloud security enhancements and ensure compliance with best practices within a regulated environment.

• Develop and maintain clear documentation for infrastructure, CI/CD processes, and operational best practices.

• Keep abreast of emerging DevOps tools, cloud services, and best practices, and promote the adoption of pertinent new technologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a comparable cloud infrastructure position.

• Strong proficiency in designing and managing cloud infrastructure, preferably on Google Cloud Platform or similar systems.

• Hands-on experience in managing Kubernetes clusters, including application deployment, scaling, and troubleshooting.

• Practical knowledge of building and optimizing CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, or similar tools.

• Solid understanding of event-driven architecture and asynchronous messaging, preferably with Kafka or similar systems.

• Proficient in scripting languages such as Bash, Shell, or Python.

• Experienced with Infrastructure as Code tools, preferably Terraform or similar alternatives.

• Comprehensive understanding of containerization concepts (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud-native architecture.

• Strong grasp of cloud security principles and best practices.

• Excellent problem-solving skills coupled with a collaborative approach.
