Senior DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nigeria.

📋 Description

• Oversee and enhance cloud infrastructure (AWS or similar)

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure services that handle millions of transactions

• Monitor system performance, detect bottlenecks, and optimize for speed and reliability

• Manage database clusters (MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch) to ensure performance and resilience

• Design, create, and sustain automated CI/CD pipelines (Github Action, GitLab, Jenkins, or similar)

• Handle infrastructure as code using Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation

• Develop deployment automation to minimize downtime and reduce human error

• Automate environment setup, testing, and release workflows

• Ensure systems are secured, patched, and protected against cyber threats

• Implement monitoring and alerting systems using Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog

• Participate in on-call rotations and address production incidents

• Collaborate with Security and Compliance teams on audits and best practices

• Work alongside Backend, Frontend, and Product teams to deliver scalable, production-ready systems

• Engage in architecture discussions and release planning

• Support your colleagues through reviews, documentation, and knowledge-sharing

• Contribute to team processes, retrospectives, and roadmap discussions

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure roles

• Proficient with AWS (or an equivalent cloud provider)

• Strong knowledge of Linux-based systems and networking

• Practical experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)

• Established expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible)

• Solid scripting skills in Bash, Python, or Go

• Experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines

• Familiarity with database management (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, or Elasticsearch)

• Capability to troubleshoot complex issues across systems and applications
