Senior DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of production reliability results for services, including availability, scalability, cost-efficiency, and security, from initial design through implementation and operations.

• Design, deploy, and secure AWS cloud infrastructure in accordance with industry best practices.

• Lead incident response efforts, conduct root cause analyses (RCAs), and facilitate post-incident reviews.

• Develop and maintain “everything as code” infrastructure utilizing Terraform/CloudFormation.

• Operate, scale, and enhance the container platform (Kubernetes/EKS/ECS).

• Create, implement, and consistently improve CI/CD pipelines to facilitate quick, safe, and repeatable releases.

• Incorporate security tools, practices, and controls into CI/CD and DevOps workflows, including container image scanning, runtime security controls, IAM best practices, and secure secret management.

• Continuously evaluate and mitigate cloud security risks through automated guardrails, compliance enforcement, and monitoring.

• Establish and enhance observability practices (metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, alerting) to improve system visibility and decrease incident resolution time.

• Drive automation initiatives to eliminate operational toil across infrastructure provisioning, deployments, monitoring, access management, and routine maintenance tasks.

• Foster an AI-first engineering culture by utilizing AI-assisted tools to expedite scripting, documentation, troubleshooting, and operational analysis.

• Design and prototype agentic solutions to automate repetitive DevOps workflows.

• Mentor colleagues, define platform standards, and elevate the engineering quality to enhance consistency, resilience, and knowledge sharing among teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in DevOps/Platform Engineering, with a proven track record of ownership over production services and operational outcomes.

• Strong expertise in AWS, including fundamental cloud networking; capable of designing and managing scalable and resilient cloud infrastructures.

• In-depth understanding of cloud infrastructure security principles, encompassing network security, IAM design, encryption, and secure architectural patterns.

• Extensive hands-on experience with Kubernetes at a production scale (EKS is strongly preferred), including cluster operations, workload scaling, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management.

• Strong skills in CI/CD engineering across modern systems, with a history of enhancing delivery reliability and speed.

• Proficient in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.

• Scripting-level proficiency in Python and comfort with Bash/shell for automation and operational tooling.

• Excellent observability skills, with the ability to generate operational insights from metrics/logs/traces and to fine-tune alerting for actionable outcomes.

• AI-first mentality: demonstrated application of AI-assisted engineering tools to boost productivity and quality.

• Experience in developing AI-assisted solutions to automate repetitive DevOps workflows.

• Outstanding collaboration and communication abilities, working across departments, writing clear documentation/runbooks, and mentoring peers.
