Senior DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Join a large-scale GitHub transformation project involving the migration of over 2,000 repositories and their CI/CD ecosystems across various GitHub environments.

• Engage in discovery, migration design, automation, pilot migrations, migration waves, cutover, validation, rollback, and stabilization processes.

• Plan and carry out migrations for GitHub Enterprise and GitHub Organizations.

• Facilitate the migration of GitHub repositories, workflows, runners, permissions, environments, variables, and secrets.

• Assist in the migration and reconfiguration of GitHub Actions and related CI/CD systems.

• Migrate and validate GitHub Apps, webhooks, OAuth integrations, and OIDC configurations.

• Develop migration automation through scripting and Infrastructure as Code techniques.

• Support AWS cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes/EKS, Jenkins, and related platform integrations.

• Diagnose migration issues and ensure platform stability during and post-migration.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to guarantee successful execution and validation of migrations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in DevOps or Platform Engineering, with significant recent exposure to GitHub and CI/CD practices.

• Extensive hands-on experience in administering GitHub Enterprise and GitHub Organizations at an enterprise level, covering repositories, permissions, environments, variables, and secrets.

• Demonstrated experience with large-scale GitHub repository and workflow migrations, including GitHub Actions, runners, and workflow reconfigurations.

• Familiarity with OIDC, GitHub Apps, webhooks, and OAuth integrations.

• Strong proficiency with Terraform and infrastructure automation techniques.

• Experience in designing and migrating CI/CD pipelines and platforms, including Jenkins and GitHub Actions.

• Knowledge of Kubernetes, AWS EKS, and AWS infrastructure.

• Scripting and automation capabilities with Python, Bash, or similar technologies.

• Practical experience across the entire migration lifecycle, from discovery to stabilization.

• Previous involvement in migration projects that included hundreds or thousands of repositories.

• Knowledge of GitOps and FluxCD.

• Familiarity with AWS CodeBuild.

• Experience with Git submodules and complex repository dependencies.

• Understanding of SSO/identity migration and related migration tools.
