Senior DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Saudi Arabia, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Operate and enhance GCP and GKE environments across production, staging, and internal services, encompassing networking, ingress, TLS, workload configuration, and scaling.

• Maintain infrastructure as code utilizing Terraform and GitOps via Argo CD, Helm, and Kustomize, ensuring changes are reproducible, reviewable, and recoverable.

• Enhance GitHub Actions pipelines for backend services, web applications, and mobile releases, including build runners, artifact management, quality gates, and deployment automation.

• Design secure release and rollback procedures, coordinating application changes, database migrations, configurations, and post-deployment validation.

• Create actionable monitoring and alerting for availability, latency, errors, and capacity, and investigate incidents using Google Cloud tools, structured logs, and Kubernetes diagnostics.

• Fortify IAM, Workload Identity, secret management, access controls, and environment isolation while supporting security reviews and evidence collection.

• Oversee backup and recovery procedures in collaboration with service owners, validate restores, and maintain effective incident and disaster recovery runbooks.

• Enhance cost efficiency and capacity planning without sacrificing reliability, eliminate manual operational tasks, and assist engineers in diagnosing platform issues.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or site reliability engineering, with direct responsibility for production systems.

• Strong expertise in GCP and Kubernetes, including GKE, IAM, networking, Workload Identity, storage, and service exposure.

• Practical knowledge of Terraform, covering modular configuration, state management, drift investigation, and controlled changes.

• Proven experience in building CI/CD pipelines and operating GitOps delivery with tools such as GitHub Actions and Argo CD.

• Strong troubleshooting skills in Linux, containers, and networking, along with scripting proficiency in Bash, Python, or a similar language.

• Experience with cloud observability, incident response, backups, recovery testing, and managing database-dependent applications.

• Ability to articulate operational risk, document procedures, and collaborate with engineers to resolve failures across service boundaries.

• Experience in supporting fintech or similar environments that handle sensitive data with stringent reliability and audit requirements.

• Familiarity with Cloud SQL for PostgreSQL, Redis, Google Secret Manager, External Secrets, and Workload Identity Federation.

• Experience with self-hosted GitHub Actions runners, Flutter build and release pipelines, mobile signing, or OpenTelemetry.
