This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Egypt.
• Take ownership and enhance the reliability, scalability, and daily operations of our production platform.
• Create and refine deployment workflows that ensure safer, faster, and more predictable shipping for engineering teams.
• Improve our Kubernetes workloads along with associated runtime aspects - including configuration, secrets management, resource utilization, resilience, and consistency across environments.
• Elevate our observability standards: facilitate easier detection, debugging, and learning from failures through effective monitoring, alerting, and instrumentation.
• Collaborate closely with application engineers to enhance developer experience, minimize toil, and eliminate infrastructure bottlenecks that hinder delivery.
• Operate independently: identify operational risks, suggest practical enhancements, and implement them without requiring oversight.
• Kubernetes proficiency: Comfortable managing production Kubernetes environments and enhancing the deployment, configuration, and daily operation of services.
• Experience with cloud platforms: Solid hands-on experience with a major cloud provider - preferably GCP - covering networking, IAM, managed services, and the trade-offs of building versus buying.
• Knowledge of CI/CD and release engineering: You have constructed or significantly upgraded delivery pipelines and understand how to balance speed with safety, traceability, and rollback confidence.
• Familiarity with containers and Linux fundamentals: Able to debug containerized workloads and comprehend operations at the process/network/filesystem level, reaching root causes without guesswork.
• Expertise in observability and incident management: You recognize what effective operational visibility entails and can improve logging, metrics, alerting, and incident response in practical manners.
• Automation proficiency: Strong scripting and automation capabilities (Bash, Python, or similar) with an instinct to eliminate repetitive manual tasks rather than normalizing them.
• Awareness of security and secrets: You adopt a careful approach to access, credentials, service boundaries, and the risks associated with production changes.
• Collaborative engineering: Capable of working effectively with software engineers and technical leaders to clarify operational requirements, provide constructive feedback, and enhance the platform without becoming a bottleneck.
• Utilization of AI-assisted development tools: You employ modern AI tools (like Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar) to expedite investigation, automation, and delivery while maintaining a healthy skepticism of their outputs, ensuring you do not automate your judgment away.
• Strong communication and judgment: Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to clearly explain trade-offs to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Curated career progression planning with formal annual reviews and informal check-ins throughout the year.
• Support for professional growth into a Feature Development Lead role.
• Competitive salary offered.
• Generous time allocated for learning new concepts, including funding for development and business-related conferences.
• Fully remote work setup, eliminating commuting expenses.
• Flexible working hours, with the requirement to be present for a 10am stand-up; otherwise, you can work at your convenience.
• 25 days of holiday (in addition to bank holidays), plus an extra day for each year of service.
• Regular all-company social events and quarterly team gatherings.
• A team that genuinely enjoys learning and collaborating together.
