Senior DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Manage Linux systems, web servers, application servers, databases, and provide cloud infrastructure support for customer environments.

• Deliver application support for Java and Ruby applications.

• Take ownership of the availability and performance of mission-critical services and develop automation to mitigate future issues.

• Develop tools and automate processes to enhance availability and performance.

• Ensure that data, services, and infrastructures are reliable, fault-tolerant, efficiently scalable, and cost-effective.

• Collaborate with Product and Release engineering teams for the deployment of new products and ongoing maintenance.

• Oversee incident, problem, and change management coordination.

• Engage in on-call rotation for after-hours and weekend emergency situations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree with over 8 years of professional experience managing large-scale production systems.

• Proficient with AWS or similar cloud providers, with relevant certification.

• Experience in designing new services on AWS or comparable cloud platforms, migrating services to the cloud, and deploying new services on these platforms.

• Hands-on experience with Terraform and configuration management tools such as Chef, Ansible, or their equivalents.

• Background in application support or development using Java or Ruby.

• Practical scripting experience with at least one of the following: Python or Bash.

• Strong understanding of large-scale web applications and distributed systems.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and/or cloud deployment technologies.

• Experience with observability tools such as NewRelic, Datadog, etc.

• Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on analyzing global-scale distributed systems.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Critical thinking skills, consistently questioning our processes to drive improvement.
