Senior DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Lead the creation and improvement of automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines, establishing benchmarks for excellence.

• Design and oversee complex cloud environments with an emphasis on performance, security, and scalability.

• Act as a mentor for DevOps Engineers, promoting a culture of continuous enhancement and adherence to best practices.

• Address intricate system performance challenges, utilizing advanced analytical skills to uphold reliability and efficiency.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or a related discipline; or equivalent hands-on experience.

• At least 5+ years of specialized DevOps experience with a strong emphasis on Kubernetes, automated testing, and observability in a telecommunications or high-performance setting.

• Expertise in the following technologies:

• CI/CD, C++, Java, and any leading cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

• Essential CI/CD Pipeline: Designing, implementing, and managing the core pipeline to uphold quality from a "Continuous Confident Change" perspective, operational on every Pull Request.

• Advanced Test Automation: Executing automated Unit, Integration, and Characterization Testing (Golden Master Testing) to ensure functional equivalence between C++ and new Java logic.

• Quality Gate Enforcement: Configuring the pipeline to mandate stringent gates, including a 100% golden master match and a limitation of less than 10% performance regression.

• Configuration Management (CM): Providing a streamlined, automated CM process & system to enhance timelines and a consistent "deploy anywhere" capability.

• Kubernetes Implementation: Practical experience in defining and managing key Kubernetes resources: Deployment (ntr-deployment) and Service (ntr-service).

• Horizontal Scaling Setup: Configuring and overseeing the Auto-Scaling Configuration based on traffic thresholds to support the CNF architecture.

• Lifecycle Management: Implementing Health Probes (Liveness/Readiness) and determining the Graceful Shutdown Sequence to guarantee high availability and minimal service disruption.

• Full Observability Stack: Extensive experience in implementing all three pillars: Metrics Export, Distributed Tracing, and Structured Logging.

• Monitoring Tools: Implementing tools (e.g., Prometheus/Grafana or similar) to ensure the new platform is both reliable and performant.

• Security Integration: Enacting cloud-native security measures, particularly Secrets Management and Network Policies.

• Distributed Cache Infrastructure: Managing and configuring Redis-compatible services (e.g., AWS ElastiCache, Azure Cache, GCP Memorystore) to support the two-tier cache architecture.

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficient in Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools for automating the provisioning of all cloud infrastructure and dependencies.

• Advanced certifications in DevOps, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), and Kubernetes, affirming specialized skills and knowledge.

• Proven ability to prioritize tasks based on business impact, demonstrating strategic planning and project management expertise.

• Established experience in providing precise status tracking and reporting, ensuring transparency and effective communication both within and across teams.

• Ability to accurately estimate testing and deployment efforts, highlighting an understanding of project scope and timelines.
