This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Design, implement, and sustain modern, accessible, and responsive front-end applications for Varsity Spirit’s Yearbook Technology platform.
• Create reusable, thoroughly tested UI components and design-system elements utilizing contemporary Angular patterns, including Signals.
• Develop interactive editing experiences on a canvas, featuring drag-and-drop layouts and image manipulation capabilities.
• Apply styling and responsive layouts using Tailwind CSS along with modern CSS methodologies.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to seamlessly integrate UI components with RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Employ client-side state management and data-flow strategies using RxJS, NgRx, or Angular Signals.
• Construct and maintain automated front-end unit, component, and end-to-end testing frameworks.
• Ensure WCAG-compliance and ARIA-compliant UI patterns through collaboration with QA and product teams.
• Enhance front-end performance for rendering-intensive, canvas-based interfaces.
• Engage in code reviews and provide mentorship to junior front-end engineers.
• Diagnose production UI issues and implement necessary fixes.
• Refine front-end development processes, tools, and infrastructure.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in front-end software development.
• Familiarity with backend or full-stack development technologies, including Java.
• Strong hands-on expertise with current versions of Angular, including Angular Signals.
• Proficient in TypeScript, RxJS, and modern component-based architecture.
• Experience with state management techniques such as NgRx, RxJS, or Signals-based state management.
• Proven experience in building and utilizing RESTful APIs while integrating with backend services.
• Knowledge of automated testing frameworks like Jasmine/Karma, Jest, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Understanding of WCAG accessibility standards and the ability to create accessible, ARIA-compliant UIs.
• Experience in optimizing front-end performance, particularly in rendering-heavy or canvas-based applications.
• Familiarity with component-driven development tools such as Storybook.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
• Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum development practices.
