This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee and assist with various client engagements within the Life Insurance and Annuity sector.
• Work in partnership with business stakeholders, project managers, business analysts, and development teams to evaluate requirements and create technical solutions.
• Engage in project planning, estimation, and discussions regarding solution architecture.
• Conduct design evaluations and suggest application architecture, data flow, and system integration strategies.
• Ensure compliance with project life cycle methodologies, IT control policies, and corporate architecture standards.
• Create and maintain both high-level and low-level technical design documents and specifications.
• Offer technical guidance to both onshore and offshore development and support teams.
• Promote code quality through code reviews, best practices, and development standards.
• Recognize opportunities for process enhancement, automation, and the adoption of emerging technologies.
• Keep up to date with industry trends and advancements related to Life Insurance and Annuity products.
• Utilize AI capabilities via GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and in-house models to enhance operational efficiency and throughput.
• A Bachelor's degree or BS/BA/MBA/MS graduate; B.Tech or MCA is acceptable.
• 8–12 years of experience in roles that include software coding, maintenance, support, and technical documentation.
• At least 8+ years in development, maintenance, and support projects involving Mainframe technologies, particularly COBOL, DB2/SQL, C#, and .NET.
• A minimum of 6+ years of experience working with SQL databases.
• Extensive experience in Life Insurance, Annuity products, and Policy Administration Systems.
• Strong understanding of the architecture and design principles of Policy Administration Systems.
• Experience in direct client interactions and managing technical delivery across distributed teams.
• Familiarity with Git and version-control tools.
• Working knowledge of AI tools and features including Skills, custom Agents, custom instructions, MCP, and hooks.
• Proficiency in COBOL and C#, SQL, and the .NET Framework.
• Experience with Git, GitHub, or other Git repositories.
• Knowledge of API design and integration.
• Skills in technical design documentation, coding, and code reviews.
• Understanding of application architecture and solution design.
• Awareness of emerging technologies and industry trends in the Life Insurance and Annuity field.
• Experience with automation initiatives and modern software development methodologies.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, team management, and cross-functional team influence skills.
• Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Professional Life Insurance certifications such as LOMA are highly desirable.
