Senior Design Manager, Data Center

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee all aspects of design management for hyperscale and AI data center projects.

• Supervise architectural and engineering consultants throughout the phases of schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and permitting.

• Coordinate efforts among multidisciplinary teams, including civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and telecommunications.

• Perform constructability reviews and value engineering assessments to enhance project performance while minimizing costs and schedule risks.

• Collaborate with Development, Construction, Procurement, and Operations teams to ensure smooth project execution.

• Review and authorize drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and design modifications.

• Drive design timelines and track consultant deliverables to achieve demanding project milestones.

• Ensure adherence to relevant building codes, industry standards, and mission-critical design requirements.

• Support the procurement of long-lead equipment by confirming technical specifications.

• Assist in the development and maintenance of standardized programs, processes, technical standards, workflows, templates, and governance for data center design, engineering, construction, commissioning, program management, and operations.

• Work with stakeholders to implement best practices that enhance quality, consistency, and project execution.

• Engage in commissioning planning and operational turnover activities.

• Identify project risks and formulate mitigation strategies throughout the design lifecycle.

• Present project updates and design recommendations to executive leadership and key stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a relevant field.

• Over 10 years of experience in managing complex commercial, industrial, or mission-critical design projects.

• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary design teams for data centers, semiconductor facilities, healthcare, or other critical infrastructure projects.

• Strong knowledge of MEP systems and mission-critical infrastructure.

• Proficient in interpreting construction drawings and technical specifications.

• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.
